Catholic Morality
- Morality is the practical level of ethics which is performed by the moral agent (human
person)

Slide no. 2
- The basic problem in the Church of the Philippines is the gap between faith as
communicated and everyday life.
“Filipinos practice the faith for the most part out of social conformity; they live most of their
life at home, at work, in the streets and in the countryside as if God did not exist...”
- Unfortunately, some Filipinos perform their duties as Catholics out of social conformity
(nakagisnan, kinagawian ng lipunan).
- They are Catholics when INSIDE the church especially during liturgical celebrations.
But when OUTSIDE the church they act or live as if God does not exist. (practical atheism)

Morality in Christian life

been less effective.

prayer.

Doing the truth
- Christ as our Way- by doing the truth we come to understand Catholic doctrines better
and to pray more authentically.
Celebrating on worship the Truth
- Christ as our Life- we both make our prayer more realistic and are empowered by grace
to know and act in Christian manner.
Understanding the Creed
- Christ our Truth- we ground both our Christian witness in moral acts as well as our
ecclesial worship.
