____________with the news.

In Local News:
A person was found shot and killed on Irvington Avenue in Elizabeth last night, marking the

second shooting death in the city in a 24 hour span, authorities said. Details are still limited, but

a Union County Prosecutors Office spokesperson did confirm that a unidentified victim was

found dead after an evident shooting in the 300 block of Irvington Avenue last night. Police

have yet to identify a motive, and an autopsy (AU-TOP-SEE) is scheduled for this morning to

determine the cause of death, the spokesperson said.

Turning to National News:

East coast citizens wave the white flag this morning as they dig out from under as much as 2

feet of snow which has been blamed for thousands of stranded travelers, power outages, and

millions of dollars in cleanup costs. Collapsed roofs were a major problem in the Mid-Atlantic

states and in Washington, D.C. where fire crews searched an abandoned building after its roof

caved in under the weight of two blizzards in a week. Airports are re-opening this morning up
and down the East Coast, but it could take days to get back on schedule as the airlines try to

move 400,000 that were stranded and delayed by the storm.

In Other News:

The host of the upcoming Oscars and 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin was rushed to New York City's

Lennox Hill Hospital last night. The situation was much ado about nothing. "This was a

misunderstanding on one person's part," Baldwin's rep, Matthew Hiltzik told E! News. "Alec was

quickly released from the hospital, he's completely fine and will be at work today." A calm 911

call was made from the actor's Central Park West apartment claiming he was unresponsive. The

caller was believed to be his 14-year old daughter, Ireland.

Taking a look at Sports:

The shockwaves of the United States upset win over Olympic favorite team Canada are still

being felt all over the hockey world. There has already been fallout following the shocking

defeat as Canada as benched starting goaltender Martin Brodeur in favor of Roberto Luongo.

Canada will look to rebound and advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday while the United

States earned a bye into the quarterfinal round with their victory. They will resume play on

Wednesday.
