0 CONCLUSION

At the end of this laboratory, it can conclude that, to produce a product into a finishing product
there are few step that must be follow which is the first step is by determining product that will be
fabricated. After that, design or draw using CAD software if possible. By designing, it will be
easier to find suitable material that could be used. Selection of process is the most important part
since the process will be the sequence on how the raw material will be process. Example of process
that commonly used is Bending, Cutting and Joining. After this process, the finishing product
should be inspect in terms of dimension, quality of finishing and painting.

By design and sketch the product in CAD, it’s better to split the part that be will be cut this is
because, it can reduce the error that might be happen during cutting the material. The material also
can be fully utilized since wastage piece can be reduced. There also a few factor that should be
considered which during the measurement on the material, it’s better to increase the value to avoid
any error.

In the process of sheet metal bending, there are few factors that should be considered. If the
distance of the punch to the sheet metal or parts not correctly in place, it will give an impact
towards the material. Since the bending process is done manually, we should be slowly moves the
punch downward towards the material because the material will be not accurately bent if the punch
speed is faster.

The objectives of this practical are fully achieved where students correctly followed the
procedure and instruction and also aware of the safety precaution when handling it. Students also
be able identify the solution to overcome the problem that might be happen during the process of
sheet metal forming and identify the main cause of parts defects happen during bending, shear and
joining process and able to
