GAMER CAVE
ASHLEY O’DELL & SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2019
DESCRIPTION
Video games are a common form of entertainment in the United
States used by all ages. In 2018, about 67% of Americans played
video games. They can range from consoles such as PlayStations,
Xboxes, Nintendo Switches to PC computers. Most people are
familiar with popular games such as Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario,
and Call of Duty. Feeling accomplished is the best feeling while
playing these games. A big question to consider is: Are these video
games impacting us in more negative or positive ways? What about
the differences between children, teenagers, and adults? The answer
will soon be revealed in this piolet episode.
TITLE OF PODCAST
Gamer Cave
PODCAST TOPIC
My podcast is going to fall into the games and hobbies genre. This
podcast will more specifically be about the effects of the hobby of
playing video games and mention a few popular games. It fits into
this category since video games are included in the game class and
playing video games is considered a hobby.
DESCRIPTION OF HOST
Hello, my name is Ashley O’Dell. Today is October __ and I am
speaking to you from Glendale, Arizona. During this podcast series, I
will be hosting the show solo. I am currently attending Arizona State
University at the West campus as a Freshmen. When I am not
studying, in class, or working… I can most likely be found in my
dorm room playing video games on my PlayStation. My experience
goes beyond the PlayStation console. I have also owned a DS, DSI,
Wii, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and played
games on my PC. My gaming days started from when I was first
introduced to simple computer games containing characters such as
SpongeBob or Dora the Explorer. From there, the lifestyle began.

research and try new things to keep my podcast up to date. I would
also then have more time for myself as well.
I chose this format because I feel that it is easy for the audience
to follow. It is structured like a story with a beginning and end. It
also goes from youngest to oldest within the subtopics. Having ideas
in chronological order makes more sense to the human brain.
SCRIPT VS OUTLINE
I will be creating a well thought out script for my podcast. I want
everything to run as smoothly as possible. It also makes me feel
more comfortable having a script on hand. I plan on just discussing
the topics that I want to cover in the podcast, but I will also give
some statistics, quotes, facts, and stories to go along with my
thoughts. Having these included in my podcast will make it both
more interesting and more credible to the audience.
