WHY WE SHOULD LEARN ENGLISH

Who doesn't know English? Apparently, there are 983 million English speakers. that
makes English the second most speaking language in the world after Mandarin.
Nowadays, everybody uses English. English is the language of science, aviation,
computers, diplomacy, politics, economics, and tourism. And even most of the films and
books produced in English. That makes English is important to learn. Because if you
don’t speak or at least understand English, you won't survive in this modern world. There
are 3 main reasons why we should learn English.
English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. Do you know that one out
of five people can speak or at least understand English? That means a lot of people spoke
English. And absolutely you don't want to sit at your home, watching what happened
outside. Of course, you should go outside of your comfort zone. You should explore new
things, and expand your connection in the world. And if you want to do that, you must
understand English. Because not everybody knows your mother language, but almost
everyone knows English.
English is based on a simple alphabet and it is fairly quick and easy to learn compared
to other languages. English alphabet just contains ABC and doesn’t have a weird letter.
Comparing to German that has a weird ‘b’ letter that sounds like an ‘s’. Or french that
has a major difference between the spelling and the pronunciation. Or worse, a language
that doesn’t has simple alphabet like Japanese and Mandarin. So for us, it’s easier to learn
English than other languages.
Last but not least, English is the language of the media industry. If you speak English,
you won't need to rely on translations and subtitles anymore to enjoy your favorite books,
songs, films, and TV shows. Imagine how cool is that to watch your favorite films without
any subtitles, and you don’t have to split your concentration between the film and
subtitles. Sometimes there’s a book that becomes a little bit weird if they translated it.
Usually, it’s the joke would become strange and weird to hear. So it’s better to read the
original book.
That’s the reasons why we should learn English. Because English is the most commonly
spoken language in the world, it’s easy to learn, and it’s the language of the media
industry. So, if you want to learn English, the most important things to do is exercise.
You have to exercise frequently because English is like a machine and exercise is like oil.
If you want the machine works properly, you should give it the oil. Same as English, if
you want to be fluent, you should exercise more.
