6 large dice per group
Score sheet per group
Whiteboard marker
Bucket

Introduction/motivation:
I will begin by demonstrating the game by playing with another player

Learning sequence:
1. Begin by explaining that we are going to be playing a dice game to practise addition.
2. Reinforce the definition of addition “the joining of two or more numbers to get a sum”
3. Outline the Learning intention
4. Model the gameplay, preferably with another child
5. Discuss rules of the game. ​See attached rules.
6. At the end of the lesson I will bring the groups together to discuss the game, rules,
ask how it went and how it could be made better.
