I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:


1. identify the sense organs of the body;
2. give the function of each sense organ of the body ; and
3. appreciate the importance of the sense organ of the body.

1. Prayer:

3. Classroom Management:
Before you take your seat, kindly pick up
the piece of unnecessary things under your chair
and arrange the alignment of your chair. ( the students will follow)

Alright, this is Helen Keller and I’m going to tell


you a story about her.
But before that let us be reminded of the
standards for listening. Everybody read.

Helen Keller lived in a world of darkness and


silence. She was blind and deaf. She could neither
see nor hear. Yet, she became one of America’s
most famous authors and lecturers.
She had a very good teacher Anne Sulivan.
Anne made Helen feels objects with one hand.
Then she traced the word for each object onto
the palm of Helen’s hand.

So those are the parts of our body that we use


for our everyday living.

C. Activity
We will have a group activity. I will divide you
into 5 groups. Each group will be given a task that
we have to finish within 10 minutes.

But before we start, what are the rules to follow

D. Analysis

Our senses helps us to understand what’s


happening around us. They are very important to
how our body operate.
So what are the sense 5 sense organs and the 5
senses that we have?
First we have …
Sense of Sight – With our eyes we are able to see.
Okay, children look around you. What can you
see? Board , seatmates , chairs …
Very good.
With our eyes, we can see the sun shines, we can
see our family and how beautiful our nature is.

Sense of Hearing – with our ears we are able to


hear sound. You can be able to hear your favorite
music, the song of a bird, your mother when
going to a dinner and your seatmate still talking
while the teacher is also talking in front.
Children can you hear me loud and clear? Yes, ma’am.

Sense of Touch – with our skin or hands we are


able to touch. The skin detects heat, cold,
pressure and pain. We can feel the texture of the
things around us, the heat of the sun and the cold
when it rains.
Okay everybody, touch your face.
What does it feel? (Answers may vary)

Sense of Smell – With our nose we are able to


smell. We can smell the fragrance of coffee and
milk and the smell of the fresh flowers in the
morning. The nose helps detects scents and
chemicals in the air.

Sense of Taste –We are able to taste with our


tongue. The tongue detects taste: salty, sweet,
sour, and bitter. Taste is the ability to detect
different chemicals in food, minerals and even
poisonous substance.

Children do you understand our lesson? Yes, ma’am.

E. Abstraction

If you really understand our lesson, what is our


five senses?
What is our five sense organs? Sense of sight, smell, hear, touch, taste

Eyes, nose, tongue, ears, and skin.

We have five sense organs. We use them
everyday. These are the eyes, skin, nose, tongue
and ears. Eyes use for seeing, skin use for feeling
we use this kind of organs to see to feel the
things.

Is it important to have our senses? Yes!

Why? Senses are important because they allow


us to see every little thing around us.

Very good. Another? Without our senses we wouldn’t have


any idea on what’s going on around us.

Since you know that our senses are important,


what should we do with our senses? We should protect them

But how are we going to do that? How are we By eating healthy foods.

For our eyes, how do you we can protect it? By minimizing its exposure to sunlight.
Get enough sleep. We should wear eyeglasses when
needed.

What about our ears? We should avoid noise or we limit our


exposure to a very loud noise

And for our nose how can we protect it? Don’t use cleaning products and other
chemicals with strong fumes.

How about our tongue? Avoid smoking and brush our teeth
regularly.

And last how are we going to protect our hands? washing it regularly.
Do you now understand the importance of our
senses and how are we going to protect it? Yes, ma’am.
