Information
Application Details
Substrate Quality Sound, clean, free of all surface contaminants including dust, laitance, loose
particles, oil and grease. New concrete or mortar should be allowed adequate time
to dry and mature.
Substrate / Ambient +2°C min. / +40°C max.
Temperature
Product will be more difficult to apply in cold temperatures.
Application Method / For straight neat lines, protect joint sides with masking tape to both sides of the
Tools joint. Remove masking tape while sealant is still soft and before sealant starts to
cure.
Apply joint sealant with hand- or air pressure gun, avoiding air entrapment.
To ensure a proper bond, always smooth the sealant down with a spatula or piece
of wood wetted with linseed oil or white spirits.
Smooth if required, using clean water to which a few drops of a synthetic detergent
have been added.
For lap joints, apply sufficient sealant to bridge the gap and press surfaces together
while still tacky leaving a minimum 2 mm sealant film.
When using as an adhesive, press surfaces together, pull apart and wait for approx.
10 minutes until sealant becomes tacky, then press together and apply even
pressure.
Cleaning of Tools Clean all tools and application equipment with Colma Cleaner, turps or white spirits
immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically
removed.
Notes on Application / Do not use in constant water immersion situations.
Limitations
Do not use on glass and plasticized PVC.
Do not use internally.
Slight crazing of the surface may occur on the exposed surface in direct sunlight,
the bulk of the sealant will remain pliable.
