1st International Conference on Research and Extension

The Camarines Norte State College’s Culture and Performing Arts Unit

known as CPAU Dance Group have been taken the stage for an entertainment during

the 1st International Conference on Research and Extension with the theme, “Creative

Pathways for Collaboration for a Progressive and Sustainable Research and Extension

Productivity” held on 8th day of November 2018 at the Social Hall of CNSC Main

Campus, Daet, Camarines Norte. The said entertainment was a success through the

effort of the members from the left (standing) Mark Paway, Aimie Mago, Albert

Lloyd Gabo, Denise Villaluz, Edmarc Magana, Teresa Mae Alaon, Alfredo Tabares,

Roxanne Gorobat, and Jerome Alfred Flores; (sitting) from the left Joreen Yaba, Jan

Michaela Mago, Jane Cerilo and Jhozalyn Geda and help of our adviser Jhessa France

Dela Cruz.

The member of CPAU dance group performed cultural folk dances of the

country namely Lawiswis Kawayan of Leyte and Samar and Española from San

Vicente Camarines Norte.

CNSC lights Christmas trees and lanterns

Camarines Norte State College Community is celebrating Christmas 2018

with a bang. Christmas trees and lanterns decorated by faculty and students of each

delivery unit including the administration lighted the CNSC ground on December 10,

2018. CPAU dance group were honored to be part of the said event.

The countdown for the lighting of the Christmas trees and lanterns was headed

by College President Dr. Rusty G. Abanto together with faculty, employees and

students. Said lighted Christmas trees and lanterns made of indigenous and recyclable

materials are products of creativity and collaboration among faculty, staff, and

students. To make this activity more exciting it was made into a competition where

winners can bag cash prizes.

Hayag Festival 2019 – The 12th Annual Celebration of Diverse Talents

February 25, 2019 – first day of Hayag Festival, the event was prepared by

setting up a parade with all the participating departments from the satellite campuses

the parade’s course was from the main campus to the Capitol Grounds of Camarines

Norte and taking the road back through J. Lukban Street and division office of the

Department of Education. After the parade the program was started by a roll-call of

all the departments and few speeches from very highly-respected personnel. The

president of the institution Dr. Rusty G. Abanto and to the founder of the celebrated

event Felomino Vicente T. Fernandez, Cultural Performing Arts Unit performed an

opening production number together with recruits from different departments

showcasing the different festivities and cultural dances that is present here like

Cariñosa, Tinikling, Kappa Malong Malong, Blit B’laan, Pandanggo sa Ilaw,

Bulaklakan, and Sayaw sa Bangko. The performance was well accommodated by the

beautiful color combinations of white base costumes with silver accessories and the

colors of green, pink, orange, and blue to contrast the color.

The performance was well complimented by a wave of applause commending

the dance troupe a cheer for performing a routine that goes well with the theme of the

event – manifesting and preserving the delightfulness of the Filipino art and culture in

the institution for generations to come.
