Jaime Augusto Miranda Zóbel de Ayala II


(also known as Jaime Augusto Zóbel) is a Filipino
businessman coming from the prominent Zóbel de
Ayala family, a Filipino business family known for
founding the Ayala Corporation (formerly Ayala y
Compañía) and are among several Filipino families
listed in Forbes magazine’s list of the world’s richest
people.
Jaime is currently serving as the chairman and
the Chief Executive Officer of the Ayala Corporation,
succeeding his father Jaime Zóbel de Ayala, as the
company’s president and CEO in 1994 and as
chairman and CEO in 2006.
Jaime is born at March 6, 1959 at Manila,
Philippines, and is currently at age 60. He is married
to Elizabeth Eder, having four children.
He studied at the Ateneo de Manila University (1966-1968), Ladycross School (1968-1971),
and Worth School (1972-1976) for his college degree and earning his B.A. degree in economics
from Harvard College in 1981, being a cum laude. He acquired his Master of Business
Administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1987.
Aside from being the CEO of the Ayala Corporation, he also sits on the boards of various
international and local business and socio-civic organizations, such as being the Chairman of
Harvard Business School’s Asia-Pacific Advisory Board, being a member of Mitsubishi
Corporation’s International Advisory Committee, and etc.
Due to his outstanding performance and work, he garnered several honours and awards,
such as being an honor in the World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow in 1995,
Emerging Markets CEO of the year in 1998, being the Best CEO for 2009/2010 named by Finance
Asia, received the CNBC Asia Business Leader Award in 2010, and so much more.
