Prayer II
O God, source of holiness, sustained by a profound
faith and firm hope through the infinite merits of your dead
and risen Son and by the salvific effects of the Eucharistic
bread, you guided Saint Francis Caracciolo on the way of
perfection in humility and in the service of our brothers and
sisters.
Grant to us, that as we venerate him as a model of
consecrated life to your love and to that of our brothers and
sisters, we may possess the same drive to be credible
witnesses through a life regenerated by the Spirit.
Grant that we rediscover the importance to fix our
gaze on the Crucified Christ and the need to resort frequently

Prayer III
By Bruno Forte, Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto
Pray for us, Saint Francis, adorer of God, hunter of
souls!
You did not hesitate to leave everything to belong
completely to Christ, your Lord. Teach us to love interior
silence; teach us fidelity in listening to the Beloved; teach us
perseverance in humbly allowing ourselves to be loved by the
living God.
You, who made yourself all things for all people to
bring to every heart in every way the joy and beauty of the
Gospel, obtain for us burning charity, to make us humble,
luminous witnesses of divine Love in every one of our
decisions, actions and thoughts.
Pray for us, Saint Francis, expert in spending your
days and nights consumed with burning love under the sun of
God! Amen. Alleluia!

Prayer V
1. O glorious Saint Francis, your charity towards God
manifested itself most ardently in your actions and preaching,
from which you were called “the Father, the preacher of
divine love”, beseech the Lord that our hearts may be filled
with divine love so as to be free from attachments to earthly
things.
2. O glorious Saint Francis, for the little esteem you had
of yourself, to the point of considering and calling yourself
“the sinner”, obtain for us from the Lord constant repentance
for our sins and humility of heart and mind.
3. O glorious Saint Francis, you implored through
penances and great sufferings the conversion of sinners, that
you were called “the hunter of souls”, through your
intercession may our souls be converted to God and remain
in your grace.
4. O glorious Saint Francis, through that tender
devotion that you had and infused in others towards the
Virgin Mary, and by whose favor you achieved your purity,
obtain for us the grace to become her devotees and, by living
chastely, to by guided in our work by her Good Counsel.

Basic Prayers
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of
heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our
Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and
was born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to
the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into
heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will
come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of
Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
11
Memorare
Remember, of most gracious Virgin Mary, that never
was known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession was left
unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto you, O
Virgin of virgins, my mother. To you we come, before you we
stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions but in your mercy hear and answer
us. Amen.
Act of Contrition
O God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven
and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend The,
my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I
firmly resolve, with the help of grace, to confess my sins, to
do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

Closing Prayer
My Jesus, I have traveled Your Way of the cross. It
seems so real and I feel so ashamed. I complain of my
sufferings and find obedience to the Father's Will difficult. My
mind is bogged down by the poverty, sickness, starvation,
greed, and hatred in the world. There are many innocent
people who suffer so unjustly. There are those born with
physical and mental defects. Do we understand that You
continue to carry Your cross in the minds and bodies of each
human being?
Help me to see the Father's Will in every incident of
my daily life. This is what You did - you saw the Father's will in
Your persecutors, Your enemies, and Your pain. You saw
beauty in the cross and embraced it as a desired treasure. My
worldly mind is dulled by injustice and suffering and I lose
sight of the glory that is to come. Help me to trust the Father
and to realize that there is something great behind the most
insignificant suffering. There is someone lifting my cross to fit
my shoulders - there is Divine Wisdom in all the petty
annoyances that irk my soul every day.
Teach me the lessons contained in my Cross, the
wisdom of its necessity, the beauty of its variety, and the
fortitude that accompanies even the smallest cross. Mary, My
Mother, obtain for me the grace to be Jesus to my neighbor
and to see my neighbor in Jesus. Amen.

Novena Prayer
All: Dear Mother of Perpetual Help, from the cross Jesus gave
you to us for our mother. You are the kindest, the most loving
of all mothers. Look tenderly on your children as we now ask
you to help us in all our needs, especially this one… (Pause for

While you were on earth, dear Mother, you willingly
shared in the sufferings of your Son. Strengthened by your
faith and confidence in the fatherly love of God, you accepted
the mysterious design of His will.
We too, have our crosses and trials. Sometimes they
almost rush us to the ground. Dearest Mother, share with us
your abundant faith and confidence in God. Make us aware
that God never ceases to love us; that He answers all our
prayers in the way that is best for us. Strengthen our hearts
to carry the cross in the footsteps of your Divine Son. Help us
to realize that he who shares the cross of Christ will certainly
share His resurrection.

General Prayers
sorrow and sin, for the depth of your compassion never ends.
Praise to you, saving sacrifice, offered on the wood of the
cross for me and all mankind.
Praise to the noble and precious blood, flowing from
the wounds of my crucified Lord Jesus Christ and washing
away the sins of the whole world. Remember, Lord, your
creature, whom you have redeemed with your blood; I repent
my sins, and I long to put right what I have done.
Merciful Father, take away all my offences and sins,
purify me in body and soul, and make me worthy to taste the
holy of holies. May your body and blood, which I intend to
receive, although I am unworthy, be for me the remission of
my sins, the washing away of my guilt, the end of my evil
thoughts, and the rebirth of my better instincts. May it incite
me to do the works pleasing to you and profitable to my
health in body and soul, and be a firm defense against the
wiles of my enemies. Amen.
Statement of Intention
My purpose is to celebrate Mass and to make
present the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ according
to the rite of the holy Roman Church to the praise of our all-
powerful God and all his assembly in the glory of heaven, for
my good and the good of all his pilgrim Church on earth, and
for al who have asked me to pray for them in general and in
particular, and for the good of the holy Roman Church.

greater glory. I want to do what you ask of me: in the way you
ask, for as long as you ask, because you ask it.
Lord, enlighten my understanding, strengthen my
will, purify my heart, and make me holy. Help me to repent of
my past sins and to resist temptation in the future. Help me
to rise above my human weaknesses and to grow stronger as
a Christian.
Let me Love you, my Lord and my God, and see
myself as I really am: a pilgrim in this world, a Christian called
to respect and love all whose lives I touch, those in authority
over me or those under my authority, my friends and
enemies.
Help me to conquer anger with gentleness, greed by
generosity, apathy by fervor. Help me to forget myself and
reach out towards others. Make me prudent in planning,
corageous in taking risks. Make me patient in suffering,
unassuming in prosperity.
Keep me, Lord, attentive at prayer, temperate in
food and drink, diligent in my work, firm in my good
intentions. Let my conscience be clear, my conduct without
fault, my speech blameless, my life well-ordered. Put a guard
against my human weaknesses. Let me cherish your love for
me, keep your law, and come at last to your salvation.
Teach me to realize that this world is passing that my
true future is the happiness of heaven, that life on earth is
short, and the life to come eternal. Help me to prepare for
death with a proper fear of judgment, but a greater trust in
your goodness. Lead me safely through death to the endless
joy of heaven. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Invitatory Psalms
Psalm 95
Come, let us sing to the Lord and shout with joy to the Rock
who saves us.
Let us approach him with praise and thanksgiving and sing
joyful songs to the Lord.
The Lord is God, the mighty God, the great king over all the
gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the highest
mountains as well.
He made the sea; it belongs to him, the dry land, too, for it
was formed by his hands.
Come, then, let us bow down and worship, bending the knee
before the Lord, our maker.
137
Psalm 24
The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness,
the world and all its peoples.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the waters he made it firm.
Psalm 67
O God, be gracious and bless us
and let your face shed its light upon us.
So will your ways be known upon earth
and all nations learn your saving help.

Serenity Prayer
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I
cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things
right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.
Prayer of Surrender
Eternal God, Goodness itself, whose mercy is
incomprehensible to every intellect, whether human or
angelic, help me, your feeble child, to do Your holy will as you
make it known to me. I desire nothing but to fulfill God’s
desires. Lord, here is my soul and my body, my mind and my
will, my heart and all my love. Direct me according to your
eternal plan. Amen.
Leader: Second, to purify the good I have done badly this day
and during my life. Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to
the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be
forever.
All: Amen.
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in
three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe
that your Divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that
He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these
and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches,
because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive
nor be deceived. Amen.
Act of Hope
O my God, relying on your almighty power and
infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my
sins, the help of your grace, and life everlasting through the
merits of Jesus Christ my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Act of Charity
O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole
heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all
love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I
forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I
have injured. Amen
