the validation was done by CT and on the basis of Validation Plan

referenced file: 3AL 98002 ABCB QTZZA. In total, 509 test items were
performed.

4.1 SYSTEM VALIDATION TESTS

At the end of the validation phase, the quality index is: 99.3 %.
The calculation formula of the quality is:

[1-(NOK+0.5*NS)/(OK+NS+NOK)] * 100%

OK: number of tests OK

NS: number of tests NS (the defects of severity 2 and 3 give tests NS - Not
Significant)
NOK: number of tests NOK (The defects of severity 1 give tests NOK - Not
OK)

The defects severities 4 are considered like change request and are not
taken into account in quality calculation.
The table below describes the result of all the tests done during the validation
of the product.

Test Result Test Quantity

OK 507

NOK (Failure report severity 1) 0

NS (Failure report severity 2 or 3) 5

NA 1

The NA status corresponds to the situation in which a test has been planned
on the initial validation plan but is not currently applicable due to various
constraints (functional restriction, existing failure report, availability of material,
software version or specific test tool missed – see also chap. 6.1).

6. NOT FIXED BUGS

1. 1:N MSP switching time excess

not permitted without written authorization from Alcatel.
All rights reserved. Passing on and copying of this
document, use and communication of its contents

Identifier: TNDcd10177
Severity (1:4): 2
Repeatability (Y/N): Y
Workaround (Y/N): N
Description:
The switching time of STM-4 and STM-1 Dual-ended 1:N MSP are about 80-
120ms, excess 50ms required.
It is same to the1660SM 4.0.A1.

2. USM shutdown after plugging out LAN connector of PC

Identifier: TNDcd10171
Severity (1:4): 2
Repeatability (Y/N): Y
Workaround (Y/N): N
Description:
USM will automatically shut down when the 100BaseT (LAN) cable is plugged
out from the PC of CT. Re-login on USM to continue.
It is same to the1650SMC and to 1662R1.0.

3. Bug of HOT time on SNCP/N

Identifier: TNDcd10179
Severity (1:4): 2
Repeatability (Y/N): Y
Workaround (Y/N): N
Description:
Set the SNCP/N connection on AU4, and the HOT time to 50ms. Switching on
the B3 error on instrument to INPUT, the protecting switch acted, the switching
time shows on instrument (Agilent OmniBER 718 or Ant-20SE) is more than 1ms,
and less than 50ms(hold-off time). So the HOT time does not acted. This bug
happens on DS, ExBer, TIM and UNEQUIPMENT alarms, but does not act on
LOS, AIS alarm.
It is same to the 1650SMC.

4. NE time problem

Identifier: TNDcd10176

ED 01 RELEASED CONFIDENTIAL
3AL 98002 ABCB FMZZA 17
Severity (1:4): 3
Repeatability (Y/N): N
Workaround (Y/N): N
not permitted without written authorization from Alcatel.

Description:
All rights reserved. Passing on and copying of this
document, use and communication of its contents

Download the EC and SC by SIBDL. Activate the NE, open USM, and set NE
time. The menu shows the NE time is 0000:00:00. Then a debug window is
popped up showing something wrong; you need to choose " Confirm", "Retry"
or "Ignore". If you choose "Confirm", USM will auto shut down. If you choose
"Ignore" it’s ok, the time is set. When “Retry”, the same window jumps out.
This bug will also occur when open the "Download > Units info..." window. It
happens sometimes; the PC Time area is GMT +08 :00 (Beijing time). It’s
possibly caused by COMET's library.

5. Mechanism problem of SYNTH and T-bus

Identifier: TNDcd10173
Severity (1:4): 3
Repeatability (Y/N): N
Workaround (Y/N): Y
Description:
When plugging out/in SYNTH16, sometimes it will cause some resistances out
of SYNTH16 because it’s too close to T-BUS. During operations, this could lead
to instability of the NE.

6. Suggestion of EC HARDWARE switches

Identifier: TNDcd10168
Severity (1:4): 4
Repeatability (Y/N): Y
Workaround (Y/N): Y
Description:
Now EC HARDWARE switches locate on the center of CESCON, and are
covered by CESCON. So it is very difficult to use it. The switches are useful for
engineering purposes.

This chapter describes all the advices and the changes concerning this
document, use and communication of its contents

release.

1. After finish the network configuration and login all network elements,
please calibrate the N.E.s’ date & time to make sure the NE has correct
initial time/date.

2. After configure the Performance of CT or refresh the data of the

Performance, please wait for about 20 seconds, and then refresh data;
otherwise the data will be unavailable or will remain on old info.

3. If you want to view all the alarms of the boards (VC, TU, NE and so on),
you should set Severities ASAP on the selection box or on NE.

4. Be aware that Software download and MIB backup needs 2-4 hours to
complete.

5. The new software package downloaded from CT needs to be activated

manually, and then the EC and SC automatically restart. Otherwise the
equipment will work with the old package.

6. FAN Shelf Alarm Cable has to be connected to CONGI-A board.

7. G-ETH/F-ETH: in order to change the severity alarm value for PLM on VC4,
or CSF on RS and MS, the selection in the “Set Alarm Severity Menu” must
be “Selected Object and subordinates”.

8. G-ETH: only the two upper optical drawers of Access Board area are
available.

9. G-ETH Access Board: if the type of SFP optical module plugged in is

different from the type configured, RUTM alarm appears. In order to clear
up the alarm, it is necessary to remove the optical module from CT
configuration and set it again.

10. In case of PRA configuration after retiming configuration changing

(ENABLE/DISABLE and vice versa), it is needed to unset and set PRA
functionality to avoid wrong consequent action.

14. Be very carefully when plugging out/in SYNTH16A/B.

15. When plugging in the SPARE SYNTH16, don’t perform any EPS SWITHING
until the ORANGE LED lights of SPARE SYNTH16.

16. SYNTH16 doesn’t support Manual Laser Restart HW for ALS.
