The Historical Background of Middle English Period

In this middle English period, there were some changes in language. The Normans
made the change in the language to more comprehensible compared to old English. They
changed the vocabularies, pronunciations, and grammatical system in the language. For
example, is The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer (1400AD). For the background of
the history, there is no specific date about the began of middle English period or the end
of the old English period but, in 1066 the Normans under the William the Conqueror,
overtook England and the Anglo-Saxons came to an end. This period can be categorized
into the periods 12th century until the 15th century but this invades made the end of the old
English period and beginning of middle English period
