Dear Parents,

Our twelfth week of school was busy with classes, one House meeting, Everyone Reads on
Wednesday homeroom plus our Halloween event!
Most of the Advanced program and Vietnamese subject teachers report the 8B2 students are
progressing in their academic studies. There are a few students falling behind in their studies in
English and Global Perspectives. Any students missing deadlines for work, falling behind in the
studies or doing poorly in subject should speak to their subject teacher first. They should ask the
teacher how they can improve. Then, the student can make a plan to improve.
The students voted to keep Quang Minh as homeroom monitor for November. Congratulations!
We celebrated Halloween on Thursday, October 31 with many student-run and teacher
supervised events. Many students dressed up. One student become a “mummy” and ran for his
life during the mummy run. Others had their faces painted while some had food from the food
stall that gives profits to a charity. It was a fun-filled afternoon!
Our next event is Book Week! It begins on Monday, November 4. We will celebrate literature
during the month of November. We will not have any house meeting next week so we can focus
on the Book week event.
Also, we will celebrate Teacher’s day!

Thank you,
Steven Bentley
