We are well underway with the school
year! Students are settling into a routine
here at school and hopefully at home.
Students should be coming home with
homework every night. Homework is
meant for students to reinforce skills that
were taught at school. Your continued
help with homework will only increase
your childs academic success. Please
remember to sign your childs agenda
every night. This is a great way to
communicate with the teacher on a daily
basis. Please do not hesitate to call your
teacher if you have any questions!

Trick-or-Treat Bingo
October 20th will be our annual Trick-or-Treat Bingo
Night! Information was sent home last week asking
for volunteers to work shifts and to provide baked
goods for Bingo. Please make sure to fill that out
and return it to school with you child if you are able
to help. All baked goods will be due by October 19th.
You can just send them to school with your child and
I will take them to FIES.

The 7 Habits
Students are continuing to learn about the 7 Habits and how they apply to their everyday life. So
far, students have discussed the following habits:
Habit 1: Be Proactive
*Students are responsible for their choices and behaviors. They are in charge!
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
* Students are thinking about how they want things to turn out before getting started. Have a
plan in mind!
Habit 3: Put First Things First
*Students are deciding what is the most important. Work first then play!
The first 3 habits give a strong foundation for being a leader of ourselves and choices
During the rest of October, students will also learn about:
Habit 4: Think Win-Win- This is the belief that everyone can win. Students learn how to better
interact to reach a solution that works for everyone involved
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood. -This habit focuses on students taking
the time to listen to what others have to say before making a decision or judging
