METHOD STATEMENT

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this method statement is to describe the specifications and different
stages involved for the safe and proper execution of formwork related to the “Greenpath
City Hotel Development Project”.

SCOPE OF WORK

This item includes the followings;

a) Shop drawing
b) Setting out
c) Erection/ tightening
d) Cleaning
e) Applying form oil
f) Removal of form

 METHOD STATEMENT

SHOP DRAWING

Shop drawing will be carried out according to architectural and structural drawings for
construction. Shop drawing will shown the information required for formwork such as
structural element sizes, shapes, level differences and dimensions etc.

SETTING OUT

The following marking will be carried out on the structure;

a) 1000 mm offset for each grid line

b) Centerline for each and every column
c) F.F.L + 1000 mm for each and every column

The above lines will be used to mark structural elements and openings on those
elements.

NOTE:

200 mm offset will be provided for columns, walls to check the location and verticality of
columns and walls.

 METHOD STATEMENT

ERECTION/ TIGHTENING

Preparation

Always pre-prepared panels will be used for formwork. Panels will be fabricated
accordingly shape and dimension of shop drawings. Steel separators will be provided
in required spacing.

Fixing

Formwork will be fixed according to the shop drawing. Proper fixing will be checked
by considering intervals of each element, alignment of vertical horizontal, bottom level
of slab & beam.

The allowable tolerance for alignment as follows;

Vertical alignment of column/ beam H/750 mm

Horizontal alignment of beam/ wall ±3 mm

Bottom level of slab ±5 mm

NOTE:

 Gap at bottom of form for column/ wall will be filled with mortar prior to concrete
 Items to be embedded in equipment will be installed and checked

CLEANING

Opening for cleaning will be provided at the bottom of column, wall at appropriate
interval and final cleaning prior to concrete will be carried out by compressed air. After
cleaning opening provide for cleaning will be closed properly

APPLYING FORM OIL

Form oil will be applied on surface of formwork.

STRIKING OF FORM WORK

After achieving required strength and surface temperature allow to strike formwork by
following;

Beam sides, walls and columns 12 hrs

Slab soffits (Form work props undisturbed) 04 days

Formwork props to slabs 10 days

Beam soffits 10 days

Formwork props to beams 14 days
