Synopsis

Introduction

As the technology is being advanced the way of life is changing accordance.

Now a day’s we can place the order for anything from our home. There is no
need to go to the shop for the things we want. The order can be placed online
through Internet. The payment, the confirmation of purchasing; we can do
everything we want. Now we can think that how the days have been changed
with time. People had to stand in rows to wait for their turns to buy a particular
thing from a popular shop. But what is happening now a day’s; we can
extremely surprise that those things can be available on the door-step in few
hours.

People had to suffer the rush of the market when they went for shopping. They
used to think hundred times to buy anything having the sufficient money for
shopping. The problem was the rush; the quarrel at the time of buying things.
But the advancement of technology brought the new way for shopping. The way
of shopping is completely changed after the Internet. People have to fill a
simple form on the internet to place their order on any popular shop for
purchasing products.

This project entitled “I_SHIP” is an implementation of the above description.

This project is aimed at developing a website that depicts online marketplace for
buying and selling services and goods as well as for shipping services too.
Individuals and businesses post items they need shipped in a variety of
categories, including auto transport, boat shipping, moving services, and the
transport of heavy industrial equipment.

Transportation service providers on I_SHIP place competing bids for the right
to haul a customer's shipment. For some categories, including boats, autos
and less-then-truckload (LTL) freight, customers can select an upfront quote for
transport services or enter an acceptable price to be matched with a transporter.
Customers can book a shipment immediately from these quotes or opt to wait
for auction bids.
Objectives

Today the internet and its boom have created a new economic scenario that
not only stresses on the classical concept of the “product” but also on the
modern concept of “service”. It is this level of service that dictates whether a
commercial venture will succeed or not in the market. To provide a high
accessibility of service we will design the only shopping web site, so that
potential customers need not to go to a physical shop to buy products or
services.
There are several objectives of web sites:
 This site gives all the information about that the
shopping to provide better service for the
customer.
 It provides the facility to the customers who
wants to shop online due to lack of time.
 It provides facilities to the customer for
payment by the cash, cheque or DD also.
 It provides the full details about the product and
related information about the product like cost,
size etc.
 We the help of it we can save the time and
money also.
 It provides better security and good delivery
services to the customer.
Project-Category

Web-Based Application Software with RDBMS:

This system i.e. “I_SHIP” is a website which perform the activities like
Administering, providing information to the shopping by the remote system
or through internet. This project falls under the category of Internet
Technologies with RDBMS, since the project is mainly for providing online
shopping of the different items. This project is utilizing Relational Databases
as back-end. Having online services for the interested user it has great demand
in market.

As we know that internet is huge client-server architecture. The client is a

web server; it is requesting a web-based data, a file, or whatever, from the
server staying anywhere in the world. Server is nothing but the service
provider which provides services to the client. It holds almost all the
information that client side wants.

We have use the MERN stack which is a JavaScript stack that's designed
to make the development process smoother. It offers amazing support to both
developer and administrator.
System Requirements & Specifications

Once the system analyst has identified the precise user requirements and
analyzed these requirements to weed out inconsistencies, they proceed to write
the document called the Software Requirement Specification (SRS). It is the
final output of the requirements analysis and specification phase.

An SRS document should clearly mention the following:

 Functional requirements of the system

 Non-functional requirements of the system
 Constraints of the system

SRS should have characteristics like concise, unambiguous, consistent,

complete, well- structured, etc.

Hardware Requirement:

Processor : Pentium Processor ISA 32 Family

Secondary Storage : 80 GB HDD
ROM : 52X CD ROM Drive
Floppy Drive : 1.44FDD
Memory : 1 GB RAM
Network Adaptor : Ethernet Adapter
Modem : 128kbps Voice Fax Data
Others : 17” Color Monitor, Printer, Scanner, Keyboard, Mouse

Software Requirement:

Operating System : Windows Family

Framework : ExpressJS
Front-End Tool : REACTJS
Back-End Tool : NodeJS, Mongo DB Atlas
Editing Tool : Visual Studio Code
Scripting Tool : Java script
Server : Self-made Server
Related work

I_SHIP is a combination of two major websites, viz, OLX & uShip.

uShip, an Austin, Texas-based company that operates uShip.com, an online

marketplace for shipping services. Individuals and businesses post items
they need shipped in a variety of categories, including auto transport, boat
shipping, moving services, and the transport of heavy industrial equipment.
Transportation service providers on uShip place competing bids for the right
to haul a customer's shipment. For some categories, including boats, autos
and less-than-truckload (LTL) freight, customers can select an upfront quote
for transport services or enter an acceptable price to be matched with a
transporter. Customers can book a shipment immediately from these quotes
or opt to wait for auction bids, similar to eBay’s ‘buy it now’ feature.

OLX Group is a global online marketplace (headquartered in Amsterdam,

and owned by South African media and technology group Naspers), founded
in 2006 and operating in 45 countries.
The OLX marketplace is a platform for buying and selling services and
goods such as electronics, fashion items, furniture, household goods, cars
and bikes.
Future scope of the Project

 Most generic consumer to consumer e-commerce website, which covers

almost all possible categories, with 2 level listing.

 Maximize benefits and minimize the disadvantages of a common e-

commerce website.

 User friendly, Vendor friendly environment.

Module Description

The system consists of the following modules:

Master Maintenance:

This module consists of information about the products and services. This
includes two sub-modules, Product master and Price master.

 Product master includes the information about particular product,

such as product number, item, name, category, images of products,
description, features, and constraints of products. All these will be
entered to the database through product master and hence made
available in the website. In Other words, product master is the admin
area for the vendors/sellers where they can put information about their
products which are to be displayed in the website.

 Price master deals with the cost of the product, discounts applicable
for the particular product of a vendor/seller.

Transactions:

In this module, management of shopping cart is done. This module will add
the bought item to the shopping cart, where all items that are to be purchased
can be reviewed once again after the item is bought from the cart. Payment
will be done on Delivery of the items (Cash on Delivery).
Reporting:

In this module all reports will be generated. Whenever an item is sold, or

customer orders a product, its vendor should be sent an alert via email
immediately so that he can ship that item soon. This module has 3
sub modules; Stock Reports, Order Reports and Delivery Reports.

 Stock Report will produce reports of the quantity of the products

available and product status.

 Order Report will have the list of products ordered and the customer
details who have bought that product, which are undelivered.

 Delivery Reports will generate products list, which are delivered to

customers.

House Keeping:

This module takes care of data which are older than a certain period. It will
allow the vendor to archive the reports generated or transaction and business
history reported by Reporting module.
