Daily “Do Now” Activity

Expectations when Students Enter the Room

When students enter the classroom they should:
1) Sit down at their desk, get out the materials they will need for
the day.
➔ During this time I can greet, talk with, and get to know my
students
2) Look at the agenda for the day on the board.

3) Get out notebook and prepare to answer the question of the day
Question of the Day
Everyday we will begin with a “Question of the Day”

➔ The Question of the Day will be about a scientific

phenomenon that relates to the topic for the day (demo?)

➔ Students will record what their prediction for the Question of

the Day is in their notebooks, sometimes with a partner.

➔ The lesson will provide the answer to the question, and

before class is over students will record an explanation to the
question.
