1. Determine the slope and deflection of point A of the cantilever beam AB with length L and
constant flexural rigidity EI using Unit Load Method.

200 GPa. Determine the displacement vertical of the joint C using unit load method if a 4 kN
force is applied to the truss at C.

10. An aluminium solid disc of 20 cm diameter is rotating at 1000 rpm. Determine the distribution
of radial and hoop stresses in the disc. Density of disc material is 2700 kg/m3 and Poisson’s
ratio is 0.25.
11. A thick cylinder with internal radius of 8 cm and external radius of 16 cm is subjected to an
internal fluid pressure of 80 MPa. Draw the variation of radial and hoop stresses in cylindrical
wall.
