ABOUT ME
My name is Abbie Beard and I am 20 years old. I grew up in Lake City, SC and attended Walker Gamble
Elementary school until 5th grade, after 5th grade I attended Laurence Manning Academy. I am currently
enrolled in Coastal Carolina University where I am pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and
certification in Elementary Education. My dream is to one day receive my Master’s degree in Speech
Language Pathology and become a Speech Therapist. I enjoy helping children and adults better themselves
and watching them succeed in life.
WORK EXPERIENCE
As a receptionist at this hair salon I was required to give clients information on the services we offered,
book hair appointments, wash towels, and keep the salon tidy. From this job I learned how to obtain good
customer service skills and calculate sales.
Summer Help | May 2016- August 2016 and May 2017-August 2017
As summer help I was required to do anything that the administration thought needed to be repaired. I
did things such as inventory on textbooks, help teachers reorganize their classrooms, mail out financial
statements, and even repainted some classrooms.
Anderson Pharmacy
As seasonal help I was in the gift department of the pharmacy. My job was to reorganize the shelves, price
and label new inventory, wrap gifts, and keep the department clean. Through this experience I was able
to broaden my customer service and sales skills.
Jane Rhodes
As a babysitter I learned ways to be a caretaker as well as a teacher. Doing this job it helped me figure
out what career I wanted to pursue. I really enjoyed this job because I got to interact with children and
be a mother-like figure.
As a certified bank teller, I was required to have great computer and customer service skills, as well as
know how to do basic banking math. Overall this job was my favorite out of them all because I got to
work with the public all day and interact with people. This job also strengthened my customer service
skills.
EDUCATION
I received my high school diploma from Laurence Manning Academy in 2018. I graduated in the top 30 of
my class with a 4.0 GPA. I am currently enrolled at Coastal Carolina University in which I am pursuing a

Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology to become a Speech Therapist.
