INQUIRY MODULE

DESCRIPTION
The technologies that will benefit my career as a teacher and that creates
interest in which I want to explore online learning websites. These also include
video links and platforms where students can discuss their schoolwork. Like how
we use Canvas, it a place for students to turn in work, find directions and have
access to discussions with their classmates.

SUBJECT AREA OF INTEREST

I chose this because it is very helpful for students, and as being one now, I
would want the same thing for my class. It is useful, with technology today
there is so many things we can do with these kinds of websites. There are links
available, websites, access to reaching out to teachers. Everything is provided
online for you and it is also very easy to work with.

IGNITED LABS TECHNOLOGY AREA (XR)

1. I think that this technology will make a positive difference in the
classroom. It will be very versatile with students’ different subjects in
school and can vary with what each student is doing in their classes. It
will create a better understanding for the classroom and what the
teachers want from their lessons. The technology will help them in the
future feeling more uncomfortable using it and building platforms for
students which will help them experience real life situations and help
them apply it to their education.
 2. Some of the shortfalls of virtual reality are definitely a technological
standpoint. Virtual reality uses information, which is a risk and teachers
and student may have a problem with it and may not even understand it.
It could be very confusing, and some may not be able to explain what it
is doing or how to work it. Technology is not easy but, there are some
advancements that we will need to reach its potential. The websites need
to be developed and have more experience with practices in order to
bring it into the classroom.
3. This technology can be utilized for good and bad. People may use it to
actually get something out of it for their education and their futures, and
others may just use it as a joke to play silly little games and won’t take it
seriously which could put a damper on their learning. This is something
us educators need to look out for.

IGNITED LABS TECHNOLOGY AREA (AI)

1. A 3-D printer could have an effect on the way students learn. It could be
a fun classroom activity for a technology class, but it really just could be a
huge distraction.
2. Some shortfalls could include students not printing the right things and
not using it for their education. They could be using it for projects or
presentations, but there is the possibility that they’re printing things for
personal interest.
3. I think that 3-D printing should be something we are wary of. It could
have good and bad benefits outside of the educational standpoint of it. I
think as long as someone has control of the printing and maybe there
must be supervised so things don’t get out of control, but I just think it is
a toy.

IGNITED LABS TECHNOLOGY AREA (IOT)

1. I think that this technology will be more beneficial because it will be
easier to relate to younger students and their activities they do. With the
technology we have today, these kinds of learnings about robots will be
more interesting and encourage their interests onto what they are
learning about and participate more. These students can track their
learning through the technology their using while including the virtual

 reality aspect into these learning websites and can learn how to navigate
websites or these technologies.
2. Some of the shortfalls of this technology is that it could just be a
distraction like the others or that it isn’t used properly. That’s with all of
them though so as educators we make it clear, important and have to be
prepared for something like this.
3. It is beneficial to different learning techniques, but it could be a threat to
the learning environment. I think though if the classroom is using it for
educational based activities it will be good for the students.

RESEARCH CONCLUSIONS
Overall. I found some very beneficial things that can help in the classroom. I
think technology can change education for the good, but also it will have its
setbacks. Obviously, getting technology to work may be an issue but hopefully
with how technology is developing it will not be an issue in the near future.

PERSONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE

What I learned personally is that the benefits it can have in a classroom and
what some of the shortcomings of technology in the classroom can do. I think
personally technology takes away from education and as a teacher my first
instinct would not be to use education.
