This is not a simple answer. If you are keen in knowing the secrets of Astrology, it's
too difficult to learn on your own or through reading answers, hence I recommend to
find a guru…. However, I'll try to answer the question.

A KP astrologer shall sit for analysis at an appropriate time when he is calm and
composed. The astrologer shall follow the following steps:

1. Note down the Ruling planets at the time of judgement. They are lagna star
and sign Lord, moon star and sign Lord and day Lord. In case of any nodes
representing the rp, consider them. Do not consider rp that is in retro star
and sub.

2. Once chart is cast, check for promise of the event in the chart. If the client
has come seeking an answer for a particular question, go for horary. If the
relevant cuspal sublord is retro, event is not going to take place. Otherwise
check whether the cuspal sublord signifies any of the relevant houses. In
that case, there is promise in the chart. In case the cuspal sublord signifies
only the negative houses, and not any positive houses then the event is not
promised. In case it signifies both positive and negative then also the event
is promised.

3. If promise is seen, list down the significators of the relevant houses. For ex,
2, 7, 11 are to be seen for marriage. The significators of a house are in the
order of strength, planets in the constellation of occupant, occupant, planet
in the constellation of the bhava Lord, bhava Lord, any planet aspecting the
cusp. The last being the planets by their nature, viz, Venus for marriage,
Jupiter for children, etc

4. Now pick the significators that are common between rp and that mentioned
in 3.

5. Once the common significators are arrived at, check for the dasa bhukti and
anthara of the planets in 4 in the near future.

6. Now check the transits, for chosen dba’s. Two transits an amateur can start
with are star interse, i,e. The dba Lords transiting in each others stars. The
other one being Jupiter sun and moon transits in the dba Lords stars and
sub.

The timing can be arrived at using the said procedure. Some of the references that
one can get are from the six readers by Prof KP himself and another book named
‘Astrosecrets and KP’ by Sri MP Shanmugham.

Timing an even thru KP is really a tough task and requires painstaking contemplation
and critical analysis of several significators held responsible for particular houses wrt
to the expected result. At times, one may get lost in the process. Many a times, a
period or date derived after such a laborious endeavor may go wrong. There are a
few reasons for this :

(a) Astrology is not a perfect science. It cannot and should not give precise
predictions. If this happens, the astrologers would turn into horrifying demons.
Astrologers are only instrumental in guiding the ‘free-will’ of the native on the paths
drawn by the Karmic System.

(b) The discretion (viveka) required in the exercise of scrutiny of significators cannot
be expected of every astrologer. It warrants a genuine selfless character of the
astrologer besides his astrology skills and experience.

(c) We commit a ghastly mistake in labeling astrology as a tool for ‘predicting

occurrence of an event’. Whereas, the fact remains that through astrology, we can
only project the likely scenario of circumstances. Astrologer cannot predict the way
the native will take action or decision or select the options available to him in the
given circumstances presented by ‘Prarabdha’ or ‘Karmic dues’. The element of ‘free-
will’ is a core component of the kaleidoscopic world. If this is not so, life will become
mechanical and its gears would have stopped long back.

As far as following a model procedure for timing an event through KP astrology, I

have nothing left to add after what has been described by learned friend Ganesh
Suresh, He has very nicely presented all the steps in correct order. Kudos..!!

To answer this Q, one needs to write a book! Suffice here is to state that KP astrology
takes into account the exact stellar (constellation) position of all planets and compare
them with current transits in order to time an event. Planetary Ownership and
Occupation are also as important as stellar positions.

In addition to the above, predictions are based on KP chart which differs substantially
from Rasi chart. KP chart recognizes unequal division of zodiacs as against fixed 30
degrees for all signs in a Rasi chart.

As per KP 2,7,11 will indicate the marriage. Take list of all the periods which signify
2,7,11 and then check transit in all the sub period. most suitable period you can
choose.

If decision is dominated by someone else then his or her chart too need to check.

Suppose you have an1 Antar Dasha of Saturn (In Mahadasha of Saturn)1 placed in 2nd

House. Its Lord of the 1st House. Now we know that when the First lord is placed in
the 2nd House, its a Dhan Yoga as per Traditional Yogas.
Now this Dasha will last for 3 Years 2 Months. Do you think that for 3 Years 2 months
everyday we will get Dhan- Wealth-Money ? That would be foolish thinking.
So when would we get Dhan ?
Now narrowing down the Time.
Suppose Your Saturn is placed in the Nakshatra of Jupiter. Jupiter is Lord of the
2nd and the 11th house for above Ascendant.
Whenever in Transit , Saturn transits through the area of the Zodiac owned by Jupiter
0-3.20 degrees of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, the native will get Good Money.
The 6th House also gives us Money. The Moon is the Lord of the 6th for above
Ascendant. Whenever Saturn transits through the Nakshatra areas of the Moon 10-
23.20 Degrees of Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, the Native will get money in this period
too.
Now do you think that Only Saturn's transit through nakshatras of Jupiter and Moon
will give Money ? No Sir. Any Planet from the 9 Planets travelling through above
parts of the Zodiac are capable of giving the native Money provided he is running a
Good Antardasha ( As in above Case).
We can further narrow down the period to days too by using SubLord, but that's not
the intention of this Post.
