Lily’s routine
Lily is a student like any other girl her age – 12
years old – but she has a different routine from her
school friends. Why? Well, because she is a swimmer
and she practises a lot to be very good.
5 She gets up at half past five. She brushes her teeth,
washes her face and combs her hair. Then she gets
dressed and goes to the kitchen to have breakfast.
After that her mother drives her to the swimming pool. When Lily is in the car, she always
listens to music and sings. This makes her feel good to start her day.
10 At half past seven she goes home, she has a shower, she eats a snack and she walks to
school. The school is near her house.
She always has four lessons in the morning. At lunchtime she goes to the canteen and has
lunch with her friends. They talk and have fun.
In the afternoon Lily doesn’t have lessons. Her friends have extracurricular activities, but
15 she has no time for that or to hang out with her friends. She catches the bus and goes to the
swimming pool. She needs to practise swimming again.
When she gets home, she studies. Then she has dinner and goes to bed early because she
gets up very early too.
She doesn’t usually have time to watch TV or surf the net.
