PROCEDURE
Introduction Time
- “Can I have the everybody come and meet at the back tables? Does anybody
remember a couple of weeks ago you had the penny and you used wax crayons to
make a print of the tail of the penny and the head of the penny?”
5 min
 Today Gr.1’s were going to do a really fun art activity that involves transferring our
pictures onto tin foil. Before you do it I want you to watch and listen carefully to
what I’m doing.
Body Time
Topic:  The first step Gr.1’s is to take out our handy circle maker and trace
Demonstratio your best circle on the paper design that you chose.
n  Step 2 is to cut out your circle.
 The third step is to use your traced circle and cut a circle in the tin foil.
 Step 4 is to place a couple of magazines under your tin foil circle and
lay your cut out picture on top. Before you start to draw, you need to
make sure the two pieces of material are lined up properly. You want
the dull side on top where you are going to draw and the shiny side
down.
 Step 5: After that you will take out your ball point pen and begin
stamping your picture right on the paper. You need to press hard.
 The last step is: Is to glue your tin foil to construction paper.
 When you are done Gr.1, your tin foil papers can go on the back
counter in a neat pile and your other art supplies can go in the
appropriate bins. If it is paper, it goes in the paper bin. Everything else
goes in the garbage except the magazines which go in a neat pile at the 1:10
back table. Makes sure to clean up your desk and everything under it. min
 I will also hand out a color by number worksheet, and you may only do
this if you have finished all of you your art work.
 Gr.1’s when you go back to your desk I want you to spend one minut
thinking of which art design you want. You only get one for now and
maybe if your lucky and have a lot of time to spare, you can maybe do
a second one. Although, for right now only one.
 WRITE RULES ON BOARD AND WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED
TO DO AFTER THEY ARE DONE
 Ask who want the “Bell?” “Snowmen?” “Christmas Tree?”
 Students will now be given time to do the art project and if they are
done the first one with a lot of time thay they will get bored with
completing the colouring sheet. Therefore, they may have time to
complete another one.
Conclusion Time
 Nearing the end of the class, I will regain the students attention and ask them,
“Did they enjoy making prints on tin foil? “Does anybody think that they
know why we would do this activity?” 6 min
 It was to show we can sometimes transfer one picture to another, and its
important to not get frustrated when something does not go our way.
Assessment
 Assessment in this lesson will be formative and will consist mostly of observation. If some
students are getting frustrated with the print making activity I will assist them in order to help
them get their art completed.

Sponge Activity:
If the students complete their tracing art, then they are able to complete the colour by number
gingerbread man activity. In order to use up time before the bell.

Teacher Notes:

Make sure that everyone has a chair to sit at the back table, This ensures that everyone is good.
Silence is tough but it is okay to have it.
Reflection:
What worked in my lesson? What did not work? Were the students engaged or were they
not? Why or why not?
