during the Who Am I game, is appropriate because it allows the teacher to show
them how to appropriately do the activity.
The read aloud is appropriate because it allows students to see different types of
community helpers, as well as, introducting them to a different type of text.

see them. The teacher will hold up each picture card and then discuss what
each community helper does.
 After explaining each, the teacher will then have students “guess” the right

different students. The teacher will also ask why that certain community
helper is good for the community.
EVALUATE (0 mins)
 The teacher will be able to assess the students’ knowledge at the end of the

END (5 mins)
 Once the teacher has finished with the “Who Am I Game.” The teacher will
review all eight of the community helpers that were discussed. The teacher
will hold up each card and call on different students to identify that helper
and what there role is within the community.
 Afterwards, the teacher will tell students to keep some of these helpers in
their mind because there will be certain helpers that we will learn about
throughout the week. The teacher will also tell the students that a few visitors
may come to the classroom to help us this week.
Safety Considerations: Students will be asked to keep their hands, feet, and objects to themselves.
Follow Up: EXTEND (5 mins) At the end of the day, the teacher will call all students to come
to the carpet to play a quick community helpers game on the SmartBoard. This will
be a quick review for students. The teacher will call on students who have had good
behavior. After doing the review, the teacher will notice who understands and does
not understand the concept. The teacher will also assess what needs to be done after
reviewing the formative and summative assessment.. If majority of the class did not
achieve mastery, then the teacher will need to find a new approach in teaching the
content. If only a few students did not achieve mastery, then the teacher will work
with them individually and/or one-on-one
