Throughout my career as a Principal in the Houston Unified School District (HUSD), I have been the person selected to
resolve critical technology, administrative, or Texas Content State Standards issues—for two reasons. First, and always
with a "can-do" attitude, I have never quit until I completely understood a problem and discovered a method to resolve
it. Second, I have always been able to build strong, professional staff relationships and work across teams to bring
together the right people needed to analyze and solve the problem. After reviewing your recent posting for a Executive
Director of Content Core Technology, I believe I can deliver the right balance of technology and innovation that will
make a difference for HUSD.

Some of my career highlights as a Principal include:

Demonstrate effective technology leadership in the area of instruction and curriculum that results in improved
teaching and learning; direct and guide school leaders through challenging academic environments that are centered
around academic excellence, closing the achievement gap, and technology integration.

Impact student achievement as demonstrated by the API score increases at Pine Tree Elementary School (50 points
gained in 3 years) and at Straightway Street Elementary School (120 points gained during the last 4 years), and is
now recognized as an 900 API school.

Started the implementation phase of the Texas Content State Standards in kindergarten and 1st grade, introducing
standards across more grade levels next year in order to support the ongoing transitions to the common core
standards; delivered PD on Common Core Implementation Modules 1-5, a Master Plan for English Learners.

Conduct research and gather data necessary to develop educational programs that meet the educational needs of
the community; develop activities and programs in order to promote positive educational, economic, and
environmental development in the community; review ongoing educational programs serving the community.

Consistently meet Texas Content State Standards at Straightway Street Elementary School, while ensuring all
teachers value and comprehend required standards and the importance of not only meeting but exceeding
standards.
