NOTES TO STUDENTS

1. Application period:
Semester One Semester Two Summer Term
29 August - 12 September 2019 15 January - 5 February 2020 10 - 20 June 2020
Please submit the completed application form to the College+ before the end of add / drop period of each
semester / summer term. Late application will not be processed.

2. For retaking a failed subject, students are not required to submit any application and may register online during
add / drop period of the semester concerned. In addition to retaking a subject due to failure, students may
retake any subject for the purpose of improving grades# on the condition that the maximum study load per
semester does not exceed 21 credits. Students wishing to retake passed subjects will be accorded a lower
priority than those who are required to retake (due to failure in a compulsory subject) and can only do so if
places are available. Furthermore, if a student is eligible to graduate upon completion of all graduation
requirements of his / her programme of study, he / she will not be allowed to retake any subject for the purpose
of improving the subject grade or GPA. Students should refer to the programme / scheme document to
ascertain the requirements for retaking failed subjects.

3. For retaking the same subject, only the final subject grade (whether it is a pass or failure) after the retake will
be included in the calculation of the Grade Point Average (GPA) and the Grade Point Average for award
classification (Award GPA). If a student passed a subject but failed after retake, credits accumulated for
passing the subject in a previous attempt will remain valid for satisfying the credit requirement for award. The
subject grades obtained in previous attempts will only be reflected in transcript of studies.

4. Students are required to settle any outstanding fee or receive a refund of fee balance in accordance with the
subject adjustment made during the add / drop period and will be notified via email about five weeks after the
commencement of that semester. If there is any fee remaining outstanding by the payment deadline, all subjects
registered will be nullified and the student’s registration on the programme concerned will also be declared null
and void. On the other hand, the refund, if any, will be arranged by auto-pay to student’s bank account.

5. The College reserves the right to adjust the tuition fees. The current level of tuition fees is applicable for the
normal duration of your programme. If you extend your study beyond the normal duration, adjusted fees, if
any, will apply.

6. Please note that the information given in the form will only be used for processing this application.
