provided me opportunities to learn about his career
in law (currently a Court of Appeals judge) and
experiences in organizing a youth basketball league
and coaching youth basketball. He has taught me
the importance of balancing work and family while
serving the community. All can be done with
diligence, grace, humility and compassion.

Leadership At St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, I am an

active member in the Youth Servant Leadership
Team, in which we guide teens along the
Confirmation process. In this youth group, I am the
head of the Praise and Worship Team where I
organize the music during events and encourage
others to share their gifts and talents.

As a Boy Scout, I was taught to "do a good turn

daily." So, outside of teaching younger scouts during
troop meetings, I set an example for the younger
kids in my community in my daily life. Boy Scouts
set the foundation of being a physical leader for me.

As a staff member of the National Youth Leadership

Training conference, I learned and taught the

essential principles and aspects of being a leader.
Through guiding a team of aspiring leaders, I
developed an appreciation for setting a good
example to others and encouraging the exhibition of
traits that are part of the Boy Scout Law.
