AIR PURIFYING VEHICLE

Air pollution is one of the biggest problem in country like India, whose solution is a bigger challenge.

So in this project an air purifying vehicle is proposed to control the air pollution caused by the solid
as well as gaseous pollutants ..

WORKING MECHANISM- The project has been divided into 3 parts :

1-Air quality monitor: Air quality monitor is a device which is used to sense/measure the impurities

Present in the air. It has only 3 parts –

I. Gas sensor-To sense the impurities

II. Micro controller - To process the values given by the gas sensor and show the output on
LCD screen.
III. LCD screen –To show the output (impurities value).

2-Vehicle control and charging mechanism: There are two ways of controlling the vehicle :

1-Manually :By a human driver

2-Through internet :This would required an extra internet setup(this can be shown only as a
prototype but the actual implementation still has a lot of problem)

Charging mechanism-The vehicle would be electric powered one. So to charged its battery it would
have a solar energy powered charging mechanism. The solar panel would be placed somewhere at a
station not on the vehicle itself(this would overload the vehicle as it would contain a lot of liquid
chemical and also efficiency is reduced)

3-Air purifying mechanism: This mechanism is the heart mechanism which purifies the air.

It consists of a chemical reaction chamber which contains a chemical called calcium hydroxide ;a
suction pump to suck air into the chemical reaction chamber to purify the air and an air filter to
purify the solid impurities. The chemical calcium hydroxide reacts with the gaseous impurities like
co2 ,no2 ,etc. to form some useful product which in turn purifies the air. The cost of the chemical is
estimated as 4 rupees per litre.
