NATO Scenario:
Following a pitched battle with WarPac formations in the vicinity of Sarajevo, NATO elements have
achieved a crushing victory in the region. Covered by overwhelming air support, NATO forces have
smashed WarPac lines at dozens of points and raced to the Serbian border. In the vicinity of the
village of Cerska, 11km short of the Serbian front line along the Drina River, various NATO elements
are regrouping and reconstituting after weeks of hard fighting. Having seen heavy action since the
outset of the conflict, the bulk of the forces arrayed around Cerska consist of the American 82 nd
Airborne Division, now down to under half the strength they jumped into the region week just over a
month ago. Alongside the 82nd are various allied units all using the Cerska region to refit and
recover. Centered on Outpost San Juan, a small improvised base outside the village, UK, BRD, and
US forces are also patrolling the surrounding country looking for surviving WarPac elements and
looking to sweep them up before they can reform or regroup with their compatriots inside Serbia.

NATO Expectations:
All participants should be prepared for an event focused around marching, patrolling, and
entrenched base life. Instead of heavy urban action or pitched assaults in the woods, NATO troops
are looking to rest, recover, dig in, and, when possible, patrol for surviving WarPac elements in the
area. All participants should bring foul weather gear and be prepared to sleep in improvised
conditions, rain or shine. While participants will NOT need to carry all of their gear on their backs,
the ability to outfit a patrol bag and undertake a 3-5 hour march should be expected. Participants
are encouraged to bring period items not usually found outside base structures such as cots,
magazines, heavy entrenching tools, field desks, field phones, ect.

WarPac Scenario:
With formal WarPac formations in the vicinity of Sarajevo broken under a rain of NATO airpower and
the press of heavy armor, mainline WarPac formations have withdrawn across the Drina River in
poor order and are struggling to reestablish a frontline alone the river and under the cover of the
well-established Serbian SAM and AAA network. With thousands of WarPac troops now trapped
behind NATO lines, efforts of these well-equipped and organized, but cut-off groups to rejoin their
lines are well underway. Some elements have blended into the forests and valleys across Bosnia
and continue to operate, attacking NATO elements behind the lines and causing havoc with logistics
and supplies. Others meanwhile are attempting to break out back across the Drina however
possible.

In the vicinity of the village of Cerska, 11km short of the Serbian front line along the Drina River,
fragments of at least 6 major WarPac combat elements have heard the radio calls of survivors from
the 345th Independent Guards Airborne Regiment and come together to form a composite force.
Without heavy armor or any air support, their objectives are relayed via a tenuous radio link to
higher command across the Drina.
WarPac Expectations:
All participants should be prepared for an event focused on living rough, out of your pack, and
carrying everything you will need for the event on your shoulders. WarPac forces will NOT be
establishing any permanent camps and should be prepared to fight or move at a moment’s notice.
Outnumbered and outgunned by NATO forces, WarPac participants will be guided by their leaders to
focus their strength when possible against smaller, isolated NATO elements or to break and
withdraw. WarPac troops will be expected to carry everything they need for this event in ruck sacks
and period accurate packs and should not expect extended rest, resupply, or access to new sources
of munitions or provisions. While watering points will be prepared to ensure participant safety,
moving extended distances at all hours with a full pack will await all WarPac participants. All
participants should bring foul weather gear and be prepared to sleep in the open or minimally
prepared positions, rain or shine.
