BEST PRACTICES OF SCHOOLS
VISAKHAPATNAM DURING 2017-18

1. M.P.P.S. Vommavaram in S-Rayavaram Mandal, Visakhapatnam District


Quality Education:
From 2-5 classes (except I class) subject wise teachers are allotted to the classes
(period wise). After teaching lessons based on the students knowledge for backward
students Remedial teaching are going on. For each and every class according to their
syllabus project works are given this made the children to learn the subject in a scientific
manner.
Exams:
Teachers were preparing question papers for F-1,2,3,4 after preparing question
papers they were taken Xerox and given them to each and every students and exams were
conducted successfully. Results were noted in the grading Registers upto the date. After
each and every exam students performance was informed to their parents at the time of
parent-teacher meeting.
School Status:
MPPS Vommavaram School in S-Rayavaram Mandal of Visakhapatnam District
has 137 number of students. 1 LFL HM 5 SGT teachers were working for each and
every class individual class rooms were available and specially HM room is also seen.
On basis of CCE implementation ne innovations can be observed library, project works,
Radio lessons all are done with special interest by the HM and teachers.
100% Enrollment:
For 100% enrollment in the next academic year from February onwards with the
help of Anganwaadi Teachers and parents above 5 years children list was prepared from
the village and every teacher participate in mobilizing the parents and students door to
door to make 100% enrollment.
Long Absents:
In every class from every students their parents phone number were collected and
made into list. Everyday attendance is taken into consideration. If any long absentees
i.e. more than 3 days observed immediately teachers make a call to their parents and ask
the reason for absent and later enter their name in the propaganda register.
According to the time table every day Radio Lessons are being arranged to the
students. After listening to the Radio Lesson students were asked to explain the listened
lesson. Project works related to Radio Lessons were done by the students. Register for
Radio lessons were maintained.

Project works:
Every student is guided to do the project works according to the syllabus. After
doing the project students (they) were asked to explain the projects and make them to
store perfectly.
SMC meetings:
According to the calendar SMC meetings were conducted. The points were
discussed like
1. Students’ enrollment.
2. Student Retention.
3. Showing students performance level.
4. MDM maintenance.
5. Teacher guidance to parents and Teachers.
6. Parents and other village people guidance.
7. Financial up dates.
Wall Magazine:
In every class room specially made Wall Magazines are exhibited by the students.
Library:
In every class rooms according to the allotted period library books reading is
arranged.
Issue of library books register is maintained by the students clubs.

Project works:
According to the syllabus project works were given to the students.
Every day at the time of prayer daily News proverb, G.K. was said by the students
and it was also noted in the dairies by the students.
Games:
According to the time table games were conducted to the students.
Drill:
Every Thursday for each and every student makes drill was done by the students.
Students Meeting
One day per week students meeting was being conducted. Every student will
personally participate in this students meeting. Items of all students clubs are exhibited
in all meetings especially in these students meeting great leaders birth day celebrations,
Plant-water, World literacy day, Gadhiji Jayanthi etc. special events were celebrated by
them.
At present HM and Co-teachers working from 2011 in this school. Before in this
school no toilets, No drinking water, No SMC maintenance, Donors not at all attended to
any activities which was done in this school. At present teachers brought lot of changes
in this school.

1. Dairy farming has donated 173 steel plates to children for MDM purpose.
2. Every year Donors giving tie-belt to the students.
3. Every year GMR Foundation donating Black shoes to children.
4. For prayer, students meeting conduction megaphone donating funds.
5. To avoid stage fear of students stage is constructed by the teachers amount
Rs.20,000/- was spent for the stage.
6. To develop Quality education copy writing books, drawing books, sketches were
given to children.
7. Rs.50,000/- funds were collected from village to buy tables and benches for t
class rooms.
8. Vasavi club donated water tanks and arranged running water to toilets.
9. Electricity is provided to all class rooms. All facilities were given to students.
10. SSA has constructed two buildings.
11. 4 toilets constructed by SSA.
12. SBI penugolles donated 4 fans, 1 water purifier, 1 computer.
13. Every year from 2011 school anniversaries were celebrating grandly. Village
people donates money to celebrates anniversary functions.
14. Dhorababu villager (ex-student) donated statues of Saraswathi, Gandhi,
Goutham Buddha 1 mother lord were placed in school
15. Ex-students of this school has celebrated 100 years function all students attended
in the function and participated in cultural activities.

2. M.P.P.S. Anandapuram in Anandapuram Mandal, Visakhapatnam District

Daily Activities in the School:


Dt: 15-03-2016 DLMT Eswara Rao visited to MPPS Anandapuram at 7:30 am.
All teachers attended (1+5) at the time of prayer i.e. 7:45, helper cleaning the class rooms
before we reached.
Prayer:

All students in the ground formed a line class wise at 7:45 am. At 7:50 second
bell rang prayer started exactly. Firstly they started with Vandematharam, Maa Telugu
Thalliki Malle Poolu Dhanda, Pledge, Proverb, News, poems, general knowledge
questions an HMs message. Next students in an order they went to their class rooms.

Class wise teaching:


Student-teacher interaction.
1st Class:
HM teachers Telugu for 1st class. She teached Abhinaya Gaeyaalu later she asked
the students to say back of her in the same rhythmic manner what she said.
2nd Class:
Teacher for 2nd class students teached about English she said ABCD Dancing time.
It is a rhyme teacher taught in a rhythmic manner very affectively showing TLM. She
sang the poem in a rhythmic way later teacher asked the students one by one to sing the
poem in a same rhythmic manner what she said.
In the same class i.e. 2nd Class Telugu Teacher taught Telugu she kept the Telugu
letters in an order on the floor, teacher asked the students to pick the letters with that
picked letter she framed a word on the board then again she asked the students to read the
word like wise the students are able to identify and read the letters and words.

3rd Class:
For 3rd Class students teacher taught maths – She introduced the numbers system
firstly teacher wrote the numbers on the board like wise

Teacher taught the place value of the numbers by using different kindly of TLM
and also the explained the extension of the number of the number system students like
wise they wise they learned the positions of the numbers from ones, tens, hundreds so on.

Not only showing TLM different kinds of Activities were done by the teacher.
Students learned in an Active Manner.

4th Class:
Teacher taught science lesson to the students about plants parts from
Roots to leaves. Showing affective TLM about different kinds of plants, Trees, herbs,
shrubs etc. teacher brought small plants (real TLM) to the Class students also learnt the
lesson by Active participation.
5th Class:
In 5th class teacher arranged Radio Lesson to the students. Topic different kinds of
animals their barking and also the differentiation of the colour of different animals. In
Telugu – Noun (Naamavaachakam), Pronoun, Verb teacher introduced the words writing
them on the black board to the students.

Break: 10 Minutes

Toilets are maintained cleanly school surroundings are very neat plantation is
good in this school.
Drinking water:
Mineral water is available in this school, daily they were using 2 bottles.
Toilets:
2 units are available for both boys and girls they were separately seen helper kept
the toilets clean she washed the toilet neatly.
Audio – Visual Aids:
One period is allotted for Audio-Visual teaching. In Television teachers were
showing different kinds of rhymes, story telling Moral lessons through CD’s. Through
this students learning affectively and pay much interest to learn it. This is more useful to
the backward students.

Library:
3rd, 4th, 5th Class students last period library period is allotted library books
reading is done by every student. Library books are available in the school sufficiently.
Reading capacity in developed by the students through this library books like Sri Vaani
Palukulu, Baala Mithra, Chandamaama Story books are seen.
Furniture:
4th and 5th classes tables and benches are available. Library books, Records, all are
kept in two cupboards and beeruvas.
Mid-day meal:
According to menu daily MDM is providing to the children. At the time of visit
Rice, Sambaar, Egg is given to the children. Students washed their hands and plates with
soap for observation daily one teacher is allotted. Firstly daily one teacher will observe
the taste. Then food is giving to the children. Class wise MDM is given to the children.
Assembly:
Before leaving school students class wise stood in line again some more G.K.
questions were asked to the students. Lastly by National Anthem School closed.
3. M.P.P.S. Kuthingput of Pedabyalu mandal, Visakhapatnam District
The school was established in the year 2012, at the time Of establishment the
school has no proper building and was maintained under a small hut. And the people in
the village were all illiterate and their local language Oriya, they don’t talk Proper Telugu
language and they don’t have knowledge are positive attitude towards education.

In 2013 J.LALITHA SANKARAM and A.RAJKUMAR Were transferred to this


school from the time they started to motivated the people in the village about education
and importance of education they slowly started to mobilize the children And people of
villagers to join all the children in the school. They achieved 100% children in the school.

In 2014 A new building was sanction with all facilities. Now the classes are
running under this new building. At present the school has all facilities i.e Drinking
water, toilet, kitchen shed, and playground. Now they are giving quality education to the
children. All classes’ children are in good standard. Teachers are giving best to the
children.
 Classes taught with proper T.L.M. and activity based teaching.
 Every class taught by CCE method of teaching.
 The science projects given weekly to the children.
 Weekly slip test conducted.
 Innovative activities properly conducted.
 Postbox, honesty box, wall magazine properly conducted.

4. M.P.P.S. Maredupudi of Anakapalli mandal, Visakhapatnam District


School Status:-

MPPS, Maredupudi in Anakapalli Mandal of Visakhapatnam District has 34


Member of Students, 2 Teachers are working. New innovative Programmes are observed
in this School Especially Garden, Library, Project works, Radio lessons etc, all are done
with special interest by Head Master and Teacher.

1. Daily assembly conducting in a good manner.


2. After prayer News Paper reading and telling good Proverbs by the students is
observed.
3. School atmosphere looks very clean and neat.
Drinking Water:-

Drinking water facility i.e. Mineral water is arranged for students by HM’s own
Expenses.
Garden:-

Especially Garden looks very pleasantly. Gardening appears special attraction to


this School. Biofencing is observed around the school. In this Biofencing good
Proverbs and Quotations Placards were arranged. This makes the School look
greenery.

Wall Magazine:-

Specially made wall magazine (Panel Board) exhibited in the School daily
students works were pasted on the wall magazine.

Library:-

Many books were arranged in the library in a systematic manner, issue of library
books is observed and issuing is noted in the library register by the students clubs.

Project works:-

According to the given syllabus many Project works were done by the students.

In Maths, EVS, Telugu many Project works are given to the students. They done these
works in a enthusiastic manner. Students responses were excellent. They answered to
all the questions which were asked by the monitoring officers.

All the skills like LSRW showed good performance by the students note books and
text boo exercices were done perfectly.
MDM: it is good and tasty MDM is cooked according to the menu.

MDM register is maintained in a good manner.

Toilets are maintained clean and neatly

TLM: Tlm is observed more in number, for each and every topic tlm is seen
especially tlm for maths and telugu new innovatives methods are followed while
preparing tlm.

Panchayathy raj institutions ,smc members ,all local bodies participates in all the
activities which was done in the school.all the special were celebrated grandly

NGO’S support is observed to this school.


About Head Master:-

Yerra S.S.G.S.Chakravarthi working as S.G.T in M.P.P. School, Maredupudi,


Anakapalli mandal, Visakhapatnam district rendered a good service to the school and
to the locality.

When he was joined in 2012 at the school his school roll was 17. In 2013 he
increased his school roll was 42. Appreciated his hard work on increasing school
enrollement from 17 to 42 as a single teacher. He saved school land protected with
cement polls and iron fencing as a compound wall. He is started extra classes after school
timings and has given training to number of backward students. Along with students he
attended to the various mandal and District level Competitions.

He Participated in Prapancha Telugu Maha Sabhalu in Anakapalli and his School got
4 prizes. He Participated in Vidya Sambaralu and Vidya Pakshotsavalu and conducted
many rallies for eradicate of illiteracy and he also worked a lot in implementing the SSA
Programmes. He conducted Medcal camps for Students in his School which is
appreciated by the parents and Students.

He maintained very cordial relation with parents. He is very affectionate


with students. He mobilized the local political leaders and committee to develop the
infrastructure of the school due to his mobilization and motivation to the parents and
Public of the village have came forward to give protection of the school premises. He
also motivated the teachers who are working in the institute to train the children well.

He guided his teachers time to time with latest techniques of the teaching and
achieved good results in examinations. He received awards for his services from the
various competitive authorities and also received district best teacher award in 2012.
Best Practices of Inclusive Education for CwSN
 Conduct of National Autism awareness month events and celebrations in 43
mandals of the district in the form of rallies, games, painting competitions,
awareness campaigns, parental counseling and referral services.

 Conduct of exposure visit for all IERTs during the Multi Category Training
Programme to Bhavita center Gajuwaka in connection with launching of skill
development programme wherein the parents and CwSN developed phenol,
detergent powder, blue, wool items, artificial jewellery with an aim to providing
rehabilitation and income generation.

 Conduct of chalivendram and distributed buttermilk to trespassers at Bhavita


center Gajuwaka for social inclusion of CwSN.

 Conduct of World Physiotherapy Day by arranging Special Live Camps at


Bhavitha Center, Akkayyapalem with participation of SSA , IE Section,
Physiotherapists and 500 public with CP,MD & MR children.

 World Physiotherapy Day – 08-09-2019 Conduct of Live & Special


Physiotherapy Camps for MD, CP & OI CwSN.

 Objectives of the Best Practices: The aim is to give CwSN maximum comfort
and independence.
a) It helps to relax the body and reduce pain & relives the stress as well
b)It helps to promote overall health in the body.
c)It helps disabled children to manage problems such as spasms and
spasticity.
d) CwSN will be able to stretch their bodies and strengthen muscles that are rarely
if ever used through Physiotherapy Services.
e) Physiotherapy give them more mobility and control of their.

 Implementation Process:
a) Conduct of District Level Programme at Bhavita Center, Akkayyapalem.
b) Wide publicity in pres before the programme for mobilization of the needy at
district level and mandal level through IE Coordinator & IERTs in all leading
Newspaper.
c) Wide press coverage of the programme after completion of the programme for
transparency and highlights Physio activities through SSA.
d) Participants: SSA, IE teachers, Physiotherapists of SSA, MD, OI and CP (Severe
and Profound cases)
e) Design of the Programme: Live and Special Physiotherapy Camps were conducted
for the CwSN by 10 Physiotherapists.
f) Logistic Arrangements including lunch, tea & snacks were made to all the
participants.
g) Involvement of pres persons for coverage.

5. Outcome of best practice:

a) Many parents came to know about the physiotherapy services through services.
b) More than 200 CwSN attended the camp for physiotherapy.
c) After the programme attendance of CwSN for physiotherapy improved and new
cases also started attending Bhavita & Non Bhavita centers for physiotherapy.

1. Name of the best practice: Seeking voluntary contribution from PSUS under CSR
and other philanthropist.

2. Objectives: With an aim to develop infrastructure and other facilities in Bhavita and
Non Bhavita centers.

3. Need and Importance: to meet the unique and exceptional needs of CwSN.

4. Implementation Process:

a) Drafted letters seeking donation of items based on the requirement to all PSVs of
some local donars.
b) Appraisal of IE interventions, activities, lacunae and requirements to fill the gaps
to nearly PSVs and local donars by IE Coordinator & IERTs.
c) Met the company officials and donors several times in person till the distribution
of items by them.
5. Outcome of the programme:

a) NTPS donated furniture to 3 IERC mandals in its vicinity and 43 water filters all
the IERCs & Non IERCs in the district.
b) Hetero Pharmacy, Gurudatta Charitable Trust , Mother Teresa Trust, Coromandal
Fertilizers, Ability People (NGO) distributed free aids and appliances to our
CwSN.
c) HBL, VSP is supplying milk, biscuits and peanut candies to the CwSN of Bhavita
center Gajuwaka.
d) Stimulator and Physiotherapy table were donated by Sai Ram Charitable Trust to
Non IERC, Parawada.

CwSN Success Story / Case Study-01

S Rama Sagar was born on 31.07.2006 at Y.colony Village of Anakapalli Mandal


in Visakhapatnam district . His mother has two children. He is the elder son to her and
belongs to MR category while his younger brother was a normal child. He was studying III
Class in MPPS Y Colony in his village. Doctors observed that he was born with some
defects. He has improper vision and speech and also he can’t hear properly. There was no
respond in him. From then onwards his parents observed his each and every movement
carefully.

As per the doctor suggestion he needs therapy all the time from child hood. His
eyes were in blue color and his left leg was not able to walk properly like this ten months
happened. He was delay in sitting and standing. He was also very thin and looking so weak.
since past five years he didn’t have school atmosphere but with his mother support he went
to Anganwadi. There he was uncomfortable to share his feelings with others.

After all these he has joined in “BHAVITHA CENTRE(NRSTC)” at K.Koppaka


near Y.Colony situated in Anakapalli Mandal. He completed 3 years of joining here. Here
he was unstable in all primary things like bathroom, Toilet, eating to do. The teacher also
took some time to put him in order. Due to his more MR in MD he was not able to do
anything not even to hold a slate.
Now he was successful in his achievement to write his name in Telugu, English and
also using Maths chart with sign language. Everyone was surprised of his writing skill on
slate . He got change in every movement now he was capable of doing things alone. He also
improved his behavior and intelligence . He is trying to say by watching things. For this his
teachers and other people felt happy and good.

Special Teachers were observing each and every movement of the child and help
him while doing lunch, toilet, bathroom and development in self skill. By following his
acts and dos. All these were learnt by using Fiber letters, Flash cards with low and using
TLM.

Now this boy became real hero by cycling hero cycle on his own talent.
CwSN Success Story / Case Study-02

Apparao and Ramalaxmi got married with nephew relation in K.Koppaka


village at Anakapalli Mandal situated in Visakhapatnam district , Andhrapradesh
state. On their eight years married life they got only one daughter K Sahithi was born
on 12.07.2009. Before this Ramalaxmi knew that the baby was abnormal in the
womb by scanning. so that she made abortion. This happened thrice(3 times). After
that they got one daughter normally without any defects but having a problem i.e.,
100% HI category.

After birth of the baby she was healthy but unable to speak. They worked a
lot to made this baby speak but that was fail in result. Although they approached
many doctors but there was no use.

She spent 1 ½ Year in Anganwadi centre. Almost she seemed to be normal


child. She also joined in convent for studies. There she was not followed anything.
And then her parents joined her in “BHAVTHA CENTRE(NRSTC)” and noticed as
ECI for 4 Years. At first she was learnt by signs and followed by self help skill. She
also followed the words of her mother at home. On coming to this Bhavitha centre
she got education skill ad developed well. Through sign language she was able to
learnt A to Z Letters, 1 to 100 Numbers and Telugu alphabets slowly.
After that she joined in first class at MPPS Koppala, Anakapalli Mandal and then
became a normal child and easy to share and then became a normal child and easy to
share and mingle with others. In a week , 5 days she used to came Bhavitha centre and
Saturday she went to regular school. She follows the syllabus as the special teachers
what they taught subject wise . Fiber Letters, Flash cards are also used to learn words.
She learnt addition, subtraction. Now she was able to write names, address etc.,

Sahithi was active in all activities. She was appreciated for her activeness
and zeal by all teachers. In education she was Competing with normal child. Finally
parents and teachers were successful in sahithi’s life.
SUCCESS STORIES OF KGBVs

Gorli swathi is a student of KGBV Sabbavaram who joined in our institution in the
academic year 2014-2015 in 6th standard. She was born in a poor family who can’t bear
the minimum expenses for their home maintenance. They are resident of Gorlivani
colony Pendurthi. Her father named G.Ramu is a lorry driver and her mother named
G.Madhavi is a house wife. Swathi completed her primary education in a nearby MPP
School Pendurthi. After completion of her primary education their parents do not have
any idea of continuing her further secondary education as they cannot afford fees in
private schools and also there are no government schools available nearby. During the
summer holidays the child used to go to nearby fields for cultivation. The family came to
know about KGBV during the motivational camp conducted by the staff of KGBV in
search of dropouts, orphans, semi orphans.

Swathi is an active and very talented girl and she pays a lot of interest in all the
fields of education, sports, yoga, dance etc. She participates in all types of competitions
and clinched prizes at Mandal and District levels.

YOGA : She excel in yoga competitions and won in the district level and she was
promoted to state level yoga competitions held by school game federation. Recently she
also participated in state level competitions held at Rajahmundry.
DANCE : She has a great passion for dance. She excel in all varieties of dance as
classical, western, folk and dhimsa dances etc. She performed many dances for many
occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers Day at Mandal level. On the
eve of Independence Day she performed a folk dance at District level in presence of
respected District Collector and also at kambala konda in presence of respected
honourable Minister Sri. Ayyanna Paatrudu garu for Vanamahotsav programme arranged
by forest department.
ACADEMICS : She also pays special interest in studies and participated and many
competitions regarding education like Quiz, Essay writing at Mandal Level. She also
appeared for the Olympiad examinations which was conducted recently. She participated
in national children Science Congress - 2017 at District Level.
The main aim of G. Swathi is to become a doctor.
SUCCESS STORY:

Sukuru Gangothri selected for state Teakwando from KGBV,V.Madugula

Gongothri is born at Bembu village,Anantha giri mandal which belongs to agency area at
Visakhapatnam district,her parents are Sriramulu and Nagamani,she is the 4th child for
her parents,they have 9 children.

This Bembu village has no proper road way to vehicles,they have to travel nearly 39kms
by walk only, Gangthri studied 3rd class and due to financial problems she was sent for
grezing Buffalos by her parents,After some days she was joined in a Grocery shops s
sales girl,the owner of the shop refused to keep her as a sales girl,then kgbv,v.madugula
PET teacher brought her to Kgbv,v.madugula and joined her in 6th class.

Now Gangothri studied studying 9th class in kgbv,v.madugula,when she was joined in
the school she doesn't know alphabets in telugu , gradually with the help of the teachers
she learned how to read and write,When she showed interest in sports and games,She was
encouraged by PET and taught various skills in sports,She was got district level hold
model in Teakwando and selected for State lever competitions,She is good in
Kabaddi,kho kho, Running also,She participate in final meet and got many prizes,She
was given special training in Teakwando at Acthuthapiram kgbv to acquainted her skills
in Teakwando and send to State level competitions.This is the success story of
S.Gangotgri,kgbv,V.madugula.

Due to lack of funds for Civil works in SSA, the works not started.

 Action Plan for the year 2018-19.

Identified 571 Dilapidated School Buildings in the District and Additional Class
Rooms proposals prepared and submitted to the State Office. 913 Class Rooms required
Major repairs in the District are also proposed in Annual Working Plan & Budget for the
year 2018-19. UDISE 2017-18 has to be finalized in State Level. After Finalization of
UDISE 2017-18, the other Civil works like Fresh Additional Class Rooms, Drinking
water facilities, Toilets, compound walls etc., will be proposed.
 Problems and issues to be brought to the notice of the Govt.,
The works sanctioned in AWP&B 2017-18, many works are in progress
and not started stage due to lack of funds. For requirement of Budget, for those
works, remainders were sent to state office. Awaiting funds from the State Office
to complete the already grounded and Not grounded works.

 Innovative Programmes implemented in the District if any along with


photographs.
No Innovative programmes implemented under Civil works.
 Success Story:
Constructed New KGBV Building at Bheemunipatnam (Kothavalasa) with
an estimate cost of Rs.125.00 lakhs, is recently Inaugurated by the Hon’ble
Sri.Ganta Srinivasa Rao garu. Minister for Human Resource Development. The
programme was completed successfully.
