Novelties:
Assessment grid.
Bicentennial : Suggestion: Helping teachers wearing outfits related to the
independence and decorate the house in white and blue
William Shakespeare.
Spelling tests are tested together with short tests ( reading
comprehension, dictation, fill in the blanks,etc). These mini tests are
related to the words which are chosen in the spelling test.
We keep on:

The Mask Parade in March.

Biographies contest.
Choir throughout the whole year.

Portfolios are given in 4th junior and in Pre 5 during our last ceremony .

Marathon of Reading.

Attendance is not taken into account during the first week.

Urbane rules / areas/ wise use of cell phones.

The students te number and the mothers name are glued in the first page of the
copybook

Writing time on Wednesdays.

Reading time/ Reading Sessions on Thursdays.

Spelling Bee Competition.

EE badges are not given out in March but as from April.

Assessing and testing students regularly.

Teach the syllabus through songs as much as possible. Choose one for the Song
Festival.

February:

March:
8th Juniors pm start classes.
9th , 10th Junior am and all senior and intermediate courses begin classes
Meeting with coordinators during the first week of March and last of February.

Book report about the Story read in the summer.

April:
Monthly helping teachers meeting

Student of the month( diplomas at the end of the month)

Start reading aloud with heads or coordinators.

2nd level meetings. Teachers and helping teachers with the coordinators
7th First Assembly: speak about Marathon and EE .Call new comers on stage and welcome
them.
7th Breakfast with heads and coordinators of all the houses.
4th / 28th Marathon of Reading.

Teach the system to newcomers, show the students that each classroom takes a
name of a famous person.

18th , 19th first tests for the first impression in the Report Cards
21st hand in report cards.
28th recruit students who want to participate in the dancing of May 25 th.
28th Animals day: Art crafts.
28th give out report cards for the first time

May :
5th Assembly to announce the winners of Marathon of Reading, EE and Student of the
month
9th to 12th Teachers Practice. Teachers swap levels for 2 running days.
Start preparing the students for the SPELLING BEE competition.

Teachers keep on sending students to read aloud.

Rehearsals for the group of students who are taking part in the Folklore dancing.

10th , 11th ,12th

first levels parents meetings.

31th Presentation of the group dancing folklore.

June:

Preparation for exams. Perfect correction and letter to parents.

Singing every day the song youve chosen for the song festival.
2nd : Assembly to announce the winners of the EE of the first part of the year.
3rd Level meetings.
7th: Portfolio Day.
9th Shoe laces exhibition in the first levels only.
10th Breakfast.
16th :The first levels teachers introduce the story of the Play during the reading
sessions. They are performed in October(17th /20th)
21st, 22nd, 23rd:FIRST TERM EXAMS.
27th:Hand in rough copies.
30th:Give out report cards and Portfolios
30th Celebration with the winners of E.E.

July :
5th: make up exams
4th , 5th: closing the first part of the year with a party and preparation for the Song
Festival.
7th: Song Festival and last day of class for the junior level
11th /24th Winter holidays.
25th : Welcome back to class

August :

Olympic games
Spelling Bee Rules practice and student of the month.
4th Assembly.
5th level meetings.
Childs Day and collection of toys.
11th Breakfast.
13th Helping teachers present for Childs Day.
18th Childs day.
31st Spelling bee competition.

September:

8th assembly E.E. Student of the month diploma.

5th/6th/7th/8th heads help students to organize themselves for teachers day.
8th Teachers day celebration.
16th helping teachers meeting.
22nd Fun Fair. Students day celebration.
Read the end of the year play to students : complete version with mind maps.

October:

6 Assembly.
7 Meeting of levels.
3 /4 / 5 /6 SECOND TERM EXAMS
