Electrical Energy Generator Using Wind Energy

Introduction:-
Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can
be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping water) or a generator can convert this
mechanical power into electricity to power homes, businesses, schools, and the like. The first windmill
used to produce electric energy was created in 1888 by Charles F. Brush.

Component of Wind Turbine:-

 Ppr pipes
 Joints
 Propeller blade
 Dc Motor (as a generator)
 Wires
Ppr Pipe:-
PPR pipe means Pipe made of Polypropylene Random Copolymer .We use ppr pipes to make
whole structure of our wind turbine project.

Joints:-
pipe joints are integral to any piping system because it is not possible to have a continuous
length of pipe for a pipe network. These joints can make or break a pipeline system depending
on the resulting durability of the technique used to form the joint. There are different materials
of pipes used in the pipeline industry depending on the need and the type of product that will
be conveyed through the pipe.

In our project we use only two joint

 Socket Equal tee joint.

 Socket 90 degree Elbow.

Propeller blade:-
A propeller is a device with a rotating hub and radiating blades that are set at a pitch to form a
helical spiral, that when rotated performs an action which is similar to Archimedes' screw.
It transforms rotational power into linear thrust by acting upon a working fluid such as water or
air.

Dc Motor:-
A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical
energy into mechanical energy. In electricity generation, a generator is a device that converts
motive power (mechanical energy) into electrical power for use in an external circuit.in our
project we use Dc motor as generator.

Wires:-
Connecting wires allows an electrical current to travel from one point on a circuit to another,
because electricity needs a medium through which to move. In our project we use only two
connecting wires
Advantages:-

 Good for environment as it uses renewable source of energy as wind.  Wind is freely available
in nature.
 Can be setup in remote areas where electricity through transmission wire cannot be reached.
 Clean source of energy as it does not produce any green house gases or any other
pollutants.
 Once setup is completed the cost of generation electricity become less.

Disadvantages:-

 High Initial cost.

 Site Specific i.e suited to particular region.
 Prediction of wind is difficult i.e wind speed varies.
 Cause visual impact

Future:-

 Wind farms can provide a surplus of reliable clean energy to society. Wind alone can not solve
today’s energy crisis in one day, but together with many other forms of renewable power,
maybe someday we can help relieve the damage to our planet caused by the overconsumption
of fossil fuels.
 Price of wind power is coming down. Technological Developments as application specific
Turbines Offshore Limited land/resource areas Transportation or construction limitations Low
wind resource Cold climates 
 Can become cost competitive for electricity generation if fossil energy costs skyrocket.
