We would like to greatly acknowledge Acharya Polytechnic, Department of

Diploma in architecture for giving us this implant-training work which equipped
us with a better understanding of office work and which gives us an opportunity
to be well familiar with practical skills, interpersonal communication skills,
leadership skills. Allowing us to work in the design projects by giving us the
necessary aid.
Moreover, we would like to thank “Divine Constructions and Designing”, Civil
Eng. Jagath who have helped us to understand basic tasks that we are done in the
office. In general, I would like to give my deepest thank for every individual who
have helped in accomplishment of this internship work and in the preparation of
this report.
We should thank for Eng. Ramu, who facilitate our implant-training place.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is a report about the implant training that I have undertaken during the first
week of this month. In this report I have tried to list the overall aspects of the
internship experience.
The first content, Company Profile provides information about the company and
continues to listing of the projects which company has undertaken from the time
it has been established. Also in this content, will find the missions and visions
of the company and its fields of specifications.
The second content of the report describes mainly about the implant training
experiences and continues to tell as how we became oriented to our
responsibilities and duties of the tasks which were given for the individuals and
also about the advisor who helped in completing the assignment.
The third content of the report describes the specific job information that we
have worked, experience and skills we gained in the implant training. It also
describes the work done in the office for one week.
The last content is all about conclusion.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
On the first two days we were not assigned a lot of works, as it was just like an
evaluation week. Since, our advisor was not having any clue about our skills, he
gave us as an assignment to design a residential building and told to do a
corrections in the plan and he expected to explore our own ideas and concepts in
that plan. This was the process went in these two days.
On the third day we were assigned to go for a site-visit with our advisor in
R.R.Nagar, where the residential building construction process was going on. The
advisor who was with me explained many things in detail like how to study the
plan according to site and whether the labourers are working properly according
to the measurements or not and he just briefly explained the
thickness/measurements and proportions of the material they use while
constructing a building, and I got some idea how the process works in the
construction site and I started to analyse things and he cleared the doubts which
I had in the construction site. And I clearly understood that it is totally different
from what we learn in the college to the whole construction field in this practical
world. And later, after returning from the site, the engineer explained about the
tender and how the process works and procedures to take tender from the small
scale or large scale companies.
On the fourth day, as I visited the site previous day, the advisor gave the plan and
told to work on the 3d model in any of the software which I am familiar with.
And he was very interacting and he also said to share each other concepts and
ideas who were working on 3d model or any other works. So, keeping that work
aside he also explained about the budget like the clients say about their designs
and we should design the building in such a way that the design we do should be
within the budget. And this all information helped to gain more knowledge about
how the client will be and how to manage them and to provide quality result.
On the fifth day, they assigned to go for another site visit with our advisor which
is a residential building in Visveswaraya Road, in that site the wall work and grill
works for window was going on, as there were no complication in the work, he
did not explain much about that work as even I had a little idea about that works,
we just looked around how the process is going on and whether there is any
problem in the site and to observed the works of labourers. And there were slight
changes in the plan which we wanted to get to their notice were explained
perfectly. And by this I got an idea like how to communicate with the labour and
head mason who were in the construction site.
On sixth day, as usual they assigned to work on the building which I visited the
previous day. They said to do the interiors for that plan and told to design the
façade for the building. So, after completing with the help of advisor we just
presented to the engineer and he also liked the designed. And mainly, had a good
experience in knowing the different mind sets and concepts of the people around
us, as they even presented their concepts of the design. And by this I learnt
presentation skills and interpersonal communication skills which will be very
important for my future in all the levels.
On the seventh day we had to visit a site which was commercial building in Kolar
near M.G.Road with our advisor. Column footing process was going on and our
advisor taught us how to study the plan and measurements given in the sheet. So,
I got an idea how to thoroughly understand the plan to do footing work for the
buildings. And he explained all that in detail including about the estimation for
that, which is very important to understand that. Later, on the other side, bar
bending work was going on. And we had a look how the process will run and
took a video for our reference too. While observing, the advisor told the
specifications and distance between main bar and distribution bar, and the
distance of height between bottom bed and top bed of the footing. As we had
learnt about this topic earlier in college, we got an opportunity to understand
practically.
On the eighth day, we re-visited Kolar with our advisor to understand the process
of concrete filling for the footing. And we stood their and observed every process
till the work get completed. Then it was let for curing and we learnt how the
skeleton of the structure is done.
On ninth day we were working on the complex which I visited in the previous
day. So, the plan of the building is about 5 floors but presently the client agreed
to construct 2 floors. So, the engineer told us to develop a 3d model of the
complex for 2 floors. And our advisors taught basic about the new software which
the structural engineer often uses ETABS software to check if the columns are
placed properly. So we explored a basic concept of software which was taught by
them. And that software will help us to gain the knowledge about where the
column should be placed and where not. This was the new software I learnt the
basic which is important and worked on the assigned work given by them.
On the last day, we completed all the pending works which were given by them.
And we had an opportunity to share our experience and thoughts of the training
in 10days which we undertook and gave a feed back of what we learnt and
understood.

 Communications skills are the life skills we use every day to communicate
and interact with other people individually and in groups.
 Interpersonal skills include not only how we communicate with others, but
also our confidence, and our ability to listen and understand.
Improving Leadership Skill
 As we already know design need more experience than theoretical
knowledge and since we did not get the opportunity to work in any
leadership areas, but working as an internship student I have got an
understanding on the leadership skill like all the works in the design and
construction company need a leader with ability to motivate all the workers
towards a common goal and the main aim of having leadership skill is to
lead all the workers to get a specific output.
Team Playing Skills
 As I noticed in the implant training, team playing skill is very important
for efficient work. Almost all the works in the design process need team
playing skill. For example in working any design the Architect needs active
collaboration with the Structural Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Sanitary
Engineer and Mechanical Engineer; if there is lack of coordination between
all the workers they cannot do their work efficiently. By this we can say
that team playing skill is very important in building design process.
Work Ethics
In this implant training, I have understood the work ethics that all the
workers should follow;
Punctuality, Accountability, Loyalty and Responsibility
CONCLUSION
Having experience in implant training, we can tell that implant training is the best
way to improve students understanding of the real physical system or practical
engineering works. So, I recommend to improve this implant training to better
extent so that students get chance to work in different projects to observe and
learn different things.
As a result of implant training, work ethics and team playing skills has been
improved. Mainly practical skill, interpersonal communication skill and
leadership skill also has been improved.
So, I thank all the lecturers and the “Divine Constructions and Designing
Company” for giving an opportunity to accomplish the implant training
successfully.
