INDEPENDENCE DAY

Kethzia:- It’s glad welcome we bring to you this morning, filled with
desires, hopes and dreams of all us share. I wish you a delightful
Independence Day. I welcome you all to the Independence day
programme of APMS. Today we are going to celebrate the 72nd
Independence Day.

On 15th August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime

Minister of India. He hoisted the Indian National Flag above the Lahori
Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. This subsequently became a custom and
on every Independence Day, Indian Prime Minister hoists the national
flag and addresses the nation.

Aakash:- Every year, on this day, Indians pay homage and remember
these great people with a sense of pride. There are functions and
activities organized in schools, colleges and government organizations to
remember the day that we became a free nation.

Kethzia:- Our country is a very big country with a lot of diversities like
religion, caste, creed, region and language. This day is celebrated by
every Indian irrespective of his religion, caste, creed and region. This
spirit did not built in a day. But it is the hard work of our foresighted
leaders during the period of the freedom struggle.

Aakash! Delhi’s skyline gets dotted with thousands of kites taking us to

the sky on this day. Do you know about it?

Aakash:- Yes! Many programmes are held at all the state capitals too.

At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will be
awake to get liberty and freedom.

In this auspicious occasion, my friends are ready to tribute their own

performance for our Independence day celebration.

PRAYER SONG:-

process. One step can start a journey. But prayer can change everything
into a possible one. Now I would like to call upon our school choir to sing
the prayer song.

Thank you friends.

FLAG HOISTING:-

Aakash:- Our Indian flag is very colourful. It is also called trianga. It

has three colours, i.e. saffron, white and green. Saffron represents
courage and selflessness. White represents honesty, purity and peace.
Green represents faith, fertility and prosperity. The Ashoka chakra in the
centre of the flag represents dharma and sathya. We are Indians and our
national flag is very important for us. It is the symbol of unity, honour
and freedom. Now I request our honourable chairman sir to hoist the
national flag.

Thank you sir. The tricolour flutters majestically. Millions have died for
Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. May our dream of a new
tomorrow come true for us.
