INTRODUCTION:

Mr. Rehan grow over a period of time and have loved the approach he has conducted and applied himself
to the assignments that have come his way. He's someone who seeks a chance in each issue. He's and
can be an excellent quality for any establishment he's employed with. He keeps himself updated.
He encompasses a negotiation skills and he get things done in a very professional manner.

CAREER GROWTH:

Mr. Rehan has done ACCA and he started his career from one of the big four firms Deloitte firm and
worked there for 2 years. After learning and gaining immense of work knowledge he started his job at
Habib Qatar International Exchange and worked there for an year and he got an opportunity at Toyota
Indus Motors Company he worked there for 3 years and then he is dong job at Nizam as a CFO.

MANAGING EMPLOYEES:

He allowed his staff on then off probability that they commit a major error. As per him, 1st oversight is
pardoned but what is here to guide the staff is that make sure this error won’t be revised in future. Mistakes
can develop into a lesson. If any employee repeated that same mistake it will be punishable in his opinion.
There is no space of same mistakes according to him.

HOW HE PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN GROWTH OF HIS EMPLOYEES:

I have good Communication skills which help me communicate someone what I really want a person to
do while performing a certain task which. Further when a colleague achieve a certain task I motivate them
by telling other colleague that a certain task for perform by an individual which make them feel self
achievement due to which they perform better. He believes that a leader don’t get afraid to give his
subordinates responsibility a step above their caliber so they have to raise their bar to meet what is their
desired. This is how an individual grow and a company grow.
USING POWER:

He stated that different powers are used in different situations. If his employees are working properly and
meeting the deadlines and giving good outcomes then he use reward power. Reward power is that you
motivate and appreciate your employee’s performance by giving them reward and making others
recognized about his good work. You value your employees hard work and you appreciate him for that.
This motivates employees and boost their energy to work more nicely on other targets.

He also mentioned that he use coercive power when employees repeat their mistakes which causes serious
problems for him and company. This type of power is used when leader wants to punish his employee for
his mistake which can cause serious troubles. He said that in his entire career he has used coercive power
once. He believe in being a fair leader.

What makes a person a good leader?

According to him it’s all about experience you gain while working into different companies and dealing
with different minds on daily basis. This helps you to know about work as well as how to deal with people
and make them do work. A good leader requires a lot of patience and experience. He must know how to
develop synergy between team and while taking decision avoid fovortism and working honestly and fairly
with your employees and appreciate the hard work of your employees and guide the team when they are
doing something wrong and make sure they achieve the assigned goals.

LEADERSHIP STYLE:

He has an autocratic leadership style. He makes the decision and convey the targets and deadlines to the
team to work on it. He assign task to his employees and don’t take their suggestions. As he believed that
everybody’s advices cannot be taken on financial matters. And he also stated that he is not lenient with the
deadlines. He want his team to work properly and give their work on time. He do whatever is necessary to
achieve the goal. He is a goal oriented person. And he want to work his team in that particular way so they
can meet the targets.
MAIN CHALLENGES:

There are many but there was one challenge which he told is that he had arrange a negotiation with the
bank which really tested his time management skills and negotiation skills and after achieving the desired
result it helped him to identify a new side of himself that he can negotiated well.

WEAKNESSES TURNED IN TO STRENGTH:

Mr. Rehan said that in initial days of his career , he use to forget things a lot. His memory was weak but
to overcome this weakness he use to note down all the thing on a diary and this thing has continued with
time that I note everything down. Which helps me to recall things easily.

WHAT THING MAKES PERSON A LEADER?

According to him a leader must be smart, mentally strong and have good interpersonal skills. He must
have a vision to which he is able to covey it to people. Leader is someone who inspire and motivate his
team. A leader is also transformational. He has to change himself a lot and make his people work to
achieve that vision. And also delegate as much work to his employees so that he can polish his team
members which will be very helpful for them in future.

MOTIVATING FACTOR:

According to him the motivating factor for him and his team is that, that they perform well and
accomplish their goals on time and be profitable to the company. His motivation is to achieve the target in
the given time and show up with the best result. He further added that mostly leader wants their work to
be done by fair mean and he want his followers/employees to be sincere with him and work to achieve
his goal so that he can do better. It is all about a team work. A leader needs a good and hardworking team
who will help him to convert his vision into reality.

MEASURING HIS OWN PERFORMANCE AS A LEADER:

We have design inter department KPI’s which are reviewed on monthly basis. We make targets for each
month for our department which I ensure are achieved by month’s end and if the targets are not achieved
we scrutinize our mistakes and try and improve them for next month. We try to ensure that mistakes are
repeated again and try to perform our best so that we can give a good result.
MY OPINION:

My opinion about his leadership style is that he need to work on few things. His leadership style should
be democratic. Why? Because I believe that even your team members can give a better idea that how to
achieve the targets. It’s not a leader who can guide you how to achieve the goals. In democratic style of
leadership you take the opinions of your team members and there is a participative discussion going on
between a team member and a leader.

He also thinks that leaders are born. But according to me it’s a wrong statement because before becoming
a leader every leader has gone through a experience in his career which polished his leadership skills and
bought him here where today he is. Leadership requires a lot of hard work, experience and time.
According to me nobody is a born leader.
