4.4.5 Installation :
Once Complete the PCC, Scaffolding work shall be proceed require area of
150mm solid block work.
Block deliver to site shall be carefully unloaded & handled to prevent chipping
and breakage and random sample to be sent for testing.
Block shall be store in dry location on plank platforms of adequate size.
First layer of block to be fully set out with proper alignment.
Blocks shall be properly laid on a full bed of mortar. Mortar joint thickness shall be
as per specification.
Mortar made on site should preferably be mixed by machine.
Mortar Mix shall be (1: 3) using SCR cement.
Add and mix thoroughly, Mix no more mortar at a time.
Setting out of the block works will be done by a surveying crew.
String Lines will be set for laying of block, the level will be checked by the mason
on every layer.
Foundation PCC shall be wetted, cleaned of all laitance, dirt or loos aggregates
and then removed prior to application of mortar.
All Block shall be well soaked before being used.
Block shall be laid in a full bed of mortar on bearing surface with coarse level and
accurately gauged to achieve the required tolerances.
Al joints shall be uniform and shall not exceed 12mm. The block work shall be
carried up in a uniform manner no one portion being raised more than 1000mm at
one time.
Wall Stiffener shall be provided as necessary to maintain stability of work.
After complete laying of the blocks, the exposed surfaces shall be cleaned
thoroughly to remove dirt, stains, mortar splashes and other blemishes.
The QC inspector shall be conduct the inspection through WIR.
4.5.1 PROTECTION:

4.7.4 Application:
Pre-Concreting
a. I n foundation, after fixing the reinforcements cleaning shall be carried out by blowing
compressed air through a nozzle to the bottom of rebar.
The surveyor shall check the line and levels after which, the QC inspector shall be conduct
inspection.
The QC inspection will ensure that no item such as rebar, spacer block, any embedded item,
has been disturbed or displaced by the cleaning operations.
b. The Engineers inspection shall follow within 24 hour from the timing of Alfada submitted
WIR. If the Engineer finds the works satisfactory, he shall sign off the WIR and release the
work to continue. However, if the Engineer fined some items in the site work need corrective
action, he shall hold the release of work, until such time that deficient items are corrected by
stating the deficiencies o n WIR. The release of work WIR with "Approved" status will
authorize to be inspect by Trakeesh- DM before the commencement of concrete placing.
Placing Concrete
m. General Foreman shall be responsible for routine inspection during concrete pouring to
ensure that all works are proceeding according to this method statement and the project
specification.
a. In case of rains, finished surface of fresh concrete shall be covered by Polyethylene 1000
microns plastic sheet until it has adequately hardened as to resist surface damage. Such
sheets shall always be available, stored near the site.
b. In case of dry winds, all exposed already-finished surfaces of fresh concrete shall be
covered with polyethylene sheets and sealed with adhesive tapes. Care shall be taken as to
cover immediately the surface partially finished, even before the entire pour is going on and
has yet to be completed. Polyethylene sheets and Masking tapes shall be always available
near site during concreting.
Concrete Delivery:
All concrete delivering truck mixer shall be accompanied each with a concrete batch
ticket or delivery receipt. With the site engineer or his representative shall check these
tickets against the concrete requisition form to ensure that the delivered concrete is

same as the requested one. He shall be also received the concrete load by signing the
ticket or delivery receipt.
1. QC Inspector shall check the type of delivered concrete and ensure the delivered concrete to site is
the define one, and ensure that any additive shall be added to the concrete on site under the
consultant approval additive material recommendation. (Refer to approved design mix)
2. QC Inspector shall write the time of arrival and departure of concrete truck mixer from site on the
ticket or delivery receipt.
3. Truck mixer shall return to the batching plant, after discharging its concrete load. Delivery ticket or
receipt, properly Signed from the pouring site shall be stamped by a time clock, marking the truck
arrival at the batching plant.

Curing c o m p o u n d a s per the E n g i n e e r ’ s recommendation can be used, the
application of the curing compound shall be comply strictly with the manufacturer's
instruction.
From the above curing method, variation shall be adopted when concreting during
hot weather with the following:
In case of large area as in continuous pour, the curing operation shall commence
immediately on the completed and surface finished section without waiting for the whole
pouring to be finished.
Post Concreting :
The following documentation provides an effective frameworks for the control of concreting
activities and verification of compliance with the specified requirement are ensured
6. ORDERING CONCRETE
