Gems of Wisdom
By P.D. Wendkos

Be like a cat and move furtively and quickly; when a thought pops
into your mind, write it down immediately so you will not forget it.
Treat everyone with respect and awe.
Bless Hashem each day for your freedom and being able to function;
keep your mind and body active as much as possible — learn something
new each day and don’t stagnate.
Be intelligently informed in what is going on in the world.
Be kind, considerate, and tolerant always, even if you have a differing

Miles Wallace with firefighters from Station #26

Miles Robbins Wallace, a rising sophomore at Pace Academy and a member of

Temple Sinai, recently earned the highest ranking the Boy Scouts of America offers, the
Eagle Scout award. A member of Troop 298, chartered at Northside United Methodist
Church and led by Scoutmaster Lee Mann, Miles served as senior patrol leader for two
years, leading meetings and organizing troop camp outs.
The award is performance-based and incorporates the longstanding mission of the
Boy Scouts: citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. For Miles’
Eagle Project, he restored the entrance to and landscaped his neighborhood Atlanta Fire
Station #26 on Howell Mill Road. Miles was honored to have several firefighters attend
his Court of Honor ceremony, on May 19. Miles is the son of Carolyn and Nathan
Wallace.
