Functions of a flower:

Petal: Brightly colored to attract pollinators

Sepal: Support and protects the fertile structures of a flower, also covers the outside of a flower
bud to protect the flower before it opens
Stamen:To produce pollen
Anther: Produces and contains pollen
Filament: To attached the anther to the flower stem
Pistil: to produce ovule
Stigma:Receives and captures the pollen grains and on which they germinate
Style: Connects the stigma to the ovary and the place where the pollen tube grows
Ovary: Place where ovules/ containing eggs are formed and produced and will eventually
become the fruit
Ovule: Carries female gametes and become seeds after fertilization

Summary:
In our investigation,we disected four different flowers to figure out their names and who they
belonged to as well as investigate a murder scene to find out who is guilty. We found out that
flower number one is a chrysanthemum which belonged to Dustin, flower number two was a
peruvian lily which belonged to Duke, flower number three was a macrophylla which belonged
to Austin, and flower number four was a rosa that belonged to Becky. Using this information we
have decided that Becky Jones should be aressed for the murder. In the crime scene there
were rose petals found. In the investigation we found out that flower number four belonged to
Becky. Becky’s flower is a rose which would explain all the rose petals on the floor. You also
see rose petals on the note that has “I will always love you” written on it. These clues led us to
believe that Becky Jones is guilty and should be arrested for the murder of Wyatt Grizzly.
