We are happy to inform you that the LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF


SORSOGON CITY is organizing the 1st KASANGGAYAHAN Festival Sepak Takraw
Tournament, category for Elementary Boys, Secondary Girls and Boys, and Boys open
category which will be held on (date of tournament) at 8:00am-5:00pm. The tournament
venue will be in the (----------) Sorsogon City, Sorsogon, Philippines.

The aim of this tournament is to promote the Sepak Takraw in Sorsogon


City and in the entire Sorsogon Province. Likewise, this is also organized to select
potential athletes which will be representing Sorsogon City in different school meet
activity and different Sepak Takraw competition.

Therefore, the Local Government Unit of SORSOGON CITY is


delighted to invite you to send your Sepak Takraw team delegation to participate in the
spectacular and exciting event for all Sepak Takraw Enthusiast. We hope to hear your

GROUND RULES FOR SEPAK TAKRAW TEAM/BEST REGU COMPETTION

1. Date and Venue


 The Sepak Takraw team/ Best Regu Competition will be played at (Venue) on (Date of
tournament).
2. Rules of the Tournament
 The tournament will be run in accordance with the rules of the International Sepak Takraw
Federation (ISTAF) 2016 currently enforced.
 Technical questions shall be referred to and resolved by the Tournament Committee.
 In cases of problems not covered by the existing ISTAF rules, the final decision shall rest with the
Tournament Manager/Officiating Officials/Tournament Committee.
3. Mode of Competition
Team/Best Regu Competition
 All participating teams will be divided into two groups (Bracket A and Bracket B). The team
belonging to each bracket will be determined through drawing of lots.
 The member of each bracket will play single round elimination.
 After the single round elimination, the top two teams will qualify for the crossover Semifinals.
The number 1 Team in Bracket A will play the number 2 Team in Bracket B and the number 1
Team in Bracket B will play the number 2 Team in Bracket A.
 The winners of the Semifinals Match will be matched again for the Championship Game, while the
losers of Semifinals Match will fight for the third and fourth places.
 In cases of ties during elimination round, winner over the other rule will take effect, if it is not in
effect the point system will be observed by adding all the scores.
4. Composition of the Players
Team/Best Regu
 A team shall be comprised of three (3) players and two (2) reserve players. Each match shall be
decided on a beat of three (3) sets.
 Under the new rule, a coach may register two (2) reserved players in each match. Each team is
allowed to make two (2) substitutions in each set, the player who has been substituted shall be
allowed to re-enter in the same set.
 Substitution of player is allowed on request of the official coach to the official referee when the
ball is not in play.
 Team captain should wear arm band different from the color of their uniform.
5. Uniform
 Participating teams and coaches if ever should wear their uniform during their scheduled games to
have a good documentations but since other teams played by their own expenses without any
sponsoring groups, uniform is not compulsory.
6. Entries
 Entries of each team must be submitted according to the regulations imposed by the ISTAF rules
Thirty (30) minutes ahead of scheduled times.
 Rules of succession will be applied
 Fifteen (15) minutes grace period will be given to the team after the last or conclusion of the match
following their game schedule.
 Non-appearance of the team after the grace period given will mean forfeiture of the game in favor
of the opposing team.
7. Equipment
 All equipment used in the tournament is brand new to assure the safety of the players.
8. Playing Venue
 The playing venue of the tournament will be at (_____________) Sorsogon City.
9. Protest
 All protest must be submitted in writings to the chairman of the technical Committee by the coach
not later than 30 minutes after the announcement of the results.
10. Unforeseen Events
 The decision of the Tournament Manager/ Officiating Referee on any question of Law of the Game
of Sepak Takraw during the Tournament shall be final. All matters not provided for in these Rules
shall be dealt with by the Technical Committee.
