Dear Sir,

Greetings of Peace and prosperity!

The undersigned would like to ask your good office to bless and support us in the conduct of
1st Iligan City Mayors Cup Sepak Takraw Tournament to be held sometime in September of this
year at Robinson’s place or Iligan City public Plaza.

The purpose of this undertaking is to:

1. Promote the SPORT Sepak Takraw to the public and open their awareness to the beauty of
the sport.
2. To discover talents and new breed of players who may represent our city for future
competitions like region, national and/or even international event competition.
3. Give and present an alternative sport aside from basketball and volleyball to our youth that
could be an alternative route in harnessing awards and recognition in the Region, national
and even/or international competitions.

It is in my fervent hope and prayer that this proposal will be given a due consideration and
approval.

Attach herewith are the BUDGET PROPOSAL and the GROUND RULES OF THE GAME.

GROUND RULES FOR SEPAK TAKRAW TEAM/BEST REGU COMPETITION

1. Date and Venue:

 The Sepak Takraw team/Best Regu Competition will be played at Dalipuga National
High School on Sept. 24-25, 2022.

2. Rules of the Tournament

 The tournament will be run in accordance with the rules of the International Sepak
Takraw Federation (ISTAF) 2016 currently enforced.
 Technical questions shall be referred to and resolved by the Tournament
Committee.
 In case of problems not covered by the existing ISTAF rules, the final decision shall
rest on the Tournament Manager/Officiating Officials/Tournament Committee.
3. Mode of Competition
 Single Elimination will be applied for each team.

4. Composition of Players
 A team shall be comprised of three (3) players and two (2) reserved players. Each
match shall be decided on a best of three (3) sets.
 Under the new rule, a coach may register two (2) reserved players in each match.
Each team shall be allowed to make two (2) substitution in each set, the player who
has been substituted shall allowed to re-enter in the same set.
 Substitution of player is allowed on request of the official coach to the official
referee when ball is not in play.
 Team captain should wear arm band different from the color of their uniform.

5. Uniform
 Participating teams and coaches if ever should wear their uniform during their
scheduled matched to have a nice documentation but since other teams played by
their own expenses without sponsoring groups, uniform is not compulsory.

6. Entries
 Entries of each team must be submitted according to the regulations imposed by the
ISTAF thirty (30) minutes ahead of scheduled time.
 Rules of succession will be applied.
 Fifteen minutes grace period will be given to the team after the last or conclusion of
the matched ahead of their schedule.
  Non-appearance of the team after the grace period given will mean forfeiture of the
game and the winner will be given to the opposing team.
7. Equipment
 All equipment used in the tournament is brand new to assure the safety of the
players.
8. Playing Venue
 The playing venue of the tournament will be at Dalipuga National High School,
Dalipuga, Iligan City.

9. Protest
 All protest must be submitted in writing to the Chairman of the Technical Committee
by the coach not later than 30 minutes after the announcement of the of the results.
10. Unforseen Events
 The decision of the tournament Manager/Officiating referee on any question of Law
of the game of Sepak Takraw during the tournament shall be final. All matters not
provided for in the game shall be dealt with the Technical Committee.
11. Player’s Qualification
 16 years old – 25 years old.
 Physically fit to play.

The Iligan City Fiesta is celebrated every September 29th of the year. This year will be one of a kind
as it launches the Diyandi Festival Celebration from Sept. 1- 30, 2022 after the pandemic brought by
Covid 19. One of the highlights is the 1st Diyandi Sepak-Takraw Tournament on Sept. 24-25 at
Dalipuga National High School.

In this regard, the undersigned would like to request you to be a one of our sponsors on the said
event. SepakTakraw is one of the sport that most of our young athletes love to play aside from
basketball and volleyball. Many teams from Visayas and Mindanao shows their intention/interest to
participate.
