“Activity Design for the Basketball Tournament in

Commemoration of the 37th Araw Ng Maharlika”
I. RATIONALE:
Sports development and physical fitness is one of the vital projects and/ programs that
government has given preferential attention particularly to the youth in order to minimize drug addiction
and other vices which led to the commission of various crimes. Moreover, it will develop them physically
and protect them from unhealthy condition, which are the factors of productive citizens.
Cognizant of its importance toward a greater contribution to the community building and provide
a wholesome recreational activities, the Barangay Maharlika officials have conceived to undertake sports
competitions among our constituents.

II. OBJECTIVES:
1. Generally, it aims to promote sports consciousness and sportsmanship among the participants and
provide recreational opportunities to sports enthusiast:
2. Specifically:
a. To develop the capabilities of the sports committee members in the efficient a systematic
management of Basketball Tournament.
b. To improve the participating players in the proper techniques and procedures of playing
basketball.
c. To gain knowledge and skills in the recent guidelines or latest procedures in officiating ball
games.
d. To foster teamwork and camaraderie among the players in the spirit of sportsmanship.
e. To provide wholesome amusement to the people as their recreational opportunities.
f. To foster camaraderie among Barangay Officials/ & its constituents.

III METHODOLOGY:

The Maharlika Barangay Council has unloaded the responsibilities to the different teams in this
barangay to organize sports committee consist of the Barangay officials/ Kagawad and SK Kagawad.
The main sport is the Basketball which will be primarily participated by all puroks and other sectors.
Then Sanguniang Kabataan will prepare the Basketball court facilities and the sports equipments. The
Maharlika Barangay Council will hire official referees in order to give fair and legitimate decision in
officiating series of ball games.

IV. COURSE/PROJECT CONTENTS:

1. Schedule of games
2. Orientation of the latest procedures of Officiating Games
3. Formulate ground rules
4. Conduct an oath sportsmanship

V. VENUE AND DURATION:

This sport will be held at District 1 Covered Court, Maharlika, Bislig City August 12-14, 2019
based on schedule of games set by the sports committee.
