IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DOUBLE FEEDING ACTIVITY FOR SCHOOL-BASED FEEDING PROGRAM FY 2019

1. Special provision of the approved 2017 SBFP Operational Guideline for SY 2017-2022 states that
schools may propose to conduct double feeding due to natural or man-made calamities to
catch-up on missed feeding days. Furthermore, double feeding may also be conducted if the
estimated number of feeding days will exceed the number of school day subject to the approval
of the Regional Director prior to the implementation to complete 120 feeding days.

2. School Heads of the SBFP implementing schools who need to double feed should write a letter
of request address to the Regional Director thru the Schools Division Superintendent stating the
reason of the double feeding activity, when it will start and end. Please see enclosure no. 1 for
the sample letter.

3. Deadline of submission of the letter request for double feeding activity for approval is on
September 16, 2019.

4. School Health and Nutrition Section is directed to strictly monitor the double feeding activity of
the schools within their cluster.

5. Immediate dissemination and compliance with this order is desired.

Dear Ma’am:

Greetings!!!!

Due to the Delayed of posting to the delayed of compliance of the procurement

Procedure in accordance to RA 9184 specifically on PHILGEPS and Early Christmas Vacation, the
120 days feeding activity of Buenavista Elementary School could not be completed. The school
started the regular feeding on August 5,2019 and the number of feeding days will only be 89
days at the end of the December 13, 2019. The following is the summary:

July 2019 – 0
August 2019 – 20 days
September 2019- 21 days
October 2019 – 18 days + ( 1 double feeding)
November 2019 – 20 days + ( 20 days double feeding)
December 2019 – 10 days + ( 10 days double feeding)
Total: 120 days ( 89 + 31 days double feeding)

In this regard, may we request for your approval to conduct double feeding starting this
October 18,2019 to December 13,2019 on the basis that double feeding is allowed if the
estimated number of feeding days will exceed the number of school days as stated on the
special provisions of the approved 2017 SBFP Operational Guidelines.
