Assignment Group work

Weighting of assessment: 50% total marks

 Critically evaluate, incorporate into the piloting of the project, disciplines


associated with project management (knowledge management, change
management, quality assurance, cost accounting, etc)
 Master project management tools and methods
 Organise project resources and tasks
 Analyse and communicate project progress, advising on corrective actions so as
to respect budget costs, delays, quality of delivered product or service
Lead project teams including the assistance of third parties

Task
Group report and Presentation
Students are required to select a pilot project to be implemented in a selected context/
organization.

Task 1

The assignment to be presented to the panel using power point format and the
duration of the presentation is 20 minutes. 10 minutes have been allocated for the
Q&A session after the presentation.

Task 2
Prepare a critical group report of NOT LESS THAN 2500 words including the
following to demonstrate the considerations which have been made during the project
plan development.

 Project scope statement


 Work breakdown structure
 Network diagram for the project with EST, EFT , LST and LFT for all tasks
 According to your WBS, develop a Gantt Chart with Resource assignment
 Risk management plan
 Quality management plan
 Communication Plan
Master of Business Administration
Use Microsoft Project 2007 or a later version produce the following
 Gantt Chart with appropriate calendar
 Resource Usage considering resource leveling for the project

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Part B Report
 Preparation of Project Scope as per checklist provided in class tutorials and its
comprehensiveness (10 marks)
 Preparation of Work Breakdown Structure, its depth and comprehensiveness.
(20 marks)
 Preparation of Network Diagram and identification of the critical path (20
marks).
 Preparation of Gantt Chart and effective resource allocation. (15 marks)
 Preparation of Risk Management plan. (15 marks)
 Preparation of Quality Management plan. (15 marks)
 Preparation of communication plan. (5 marks)
