who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Mom is also a special education teacher.
You are required to subscribe to the website/14.95/mth. There are many many downloadable
graphics displays as well as teaching suggestions. Information categories include behavior
management, sensory ideas, visual supports, social skills, reading, math, writing, etc.

collections with questions set up for 9/20/56 communication device overlays. All free
downloads.

worksheets.

teachers because it contains a large number of downloadable picture symbol recipes for
snacks and other foods. Approximately 40 picture recipes and over 200 activity sheets as well
as other teaching materials and activities.

language and writing.

16. www.crayon.net : Use the tools at this site to creat a personalized newspaper. A
powerful tool to monitor topics of personal interest.
17. www.dltk-kids.com : A website rich with graphics, craft projects, downloadable
books, greeting cards, etc. Many popular childhood characters can be found at this website.

18. www.dotolearn.com : The Special Educator’s Website! A wealth of teaching suggestions


and downloadable materials for special educators-particularly those working with students
with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Most of the information is free including a few hundred black
and white picture symbols. There is a subscription fee, however for interactive software
activities for students and for a more expanded set of colored picture communication
symbols. The site has recently added an impressive section on the topic of Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome.

quite a bit of free information available on the site. Worksheets, printable books, coloring
pages, activities, suggestions and printables.

and sharing areas.

but easily adaptable for CD programs.

easily be adapted for CD programs.

cognitive disabilities, challenging behaviors and communication issues by Building Blox. There
are free downloads but the majority of materials have a cost.

45. www.sandbox-learning.com : A for fee website dedicated to the construction of


personalized social stories for students. Social stories are leased on an annual basis for a small
fee. Check out the free sample, a social story about “waiting”, try the sample pages for the
listed stories and sign up for the free newsletter which contains lots of great ideas.

photographs. Graphic organizers are also downloadable to extend the teaching experience or
each recipe or task.

49. www.senteacher.org : SEN Teacher provides free teaching and learning resources for
students with special needs and learning disabilities. This website is based in the UK. There
are wonderful printables and downloads designed specifically or students with special learning
needs plus a great links page and a search engine that has disability filters.

50. www.setbc.org : A Canadian based website that is a rich resource for both graphics and
intervention planning for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other disabilities. Click
on the Learning Center at the top of the home window and then check both the
“Communication” and “General Topics” sections. You will find webcasts, narrated
demonstrations, printed resources, assistive technology guidelines and downloadable visual
supports for both receptive and expressive communication.

52. www.spectronicsinoz.com/activities : A site based from Australia/New Zealand. It has a


Web activity exchange that has downloads for Boardmaker plus other devices.

53. www.speechtx.com : A variety of printable activities and ideas for different ages and
the best is that they are all free.

54. www.symbolworld.org : Offers free downloads that have been adapted with picture
communication symbols including stories and learning activities. To access a wonderful e-live
magazine for older students (completely adapted with picture symbols) the user must
subscribe. It is well worth doing since the subscription is free and many back issues of the
magazine are available along with the current issue, in PDF for downloading.

divided by grades 1-3 and 4-6 with games, sight words, teacher links, kids links and parent
links. All are printable and free.
