Answer the questions based on the following text

The Tokyo Tower is a tower located in Minato, Tokyo, completed in 1958. It is a

333m, self-supporting steel tower, second only in height to the Tokyo Sky Tree. It became
very popular starting in 1958 when it was lit up at night by specific lights near it that cast
light on the tower at night, using a special mechanism called a Diamond Veil that lights up
the tower in special colors, ranging from pure white in summer, to a soft orange in winter.
The diamond veil is a 17-stage lighting setup that allows the tower to be lit up in 7
different colors.

There are 3 observatories on the Tokyo Tower. The large observatory on the first
floor is located about 145m up, where you can sit at the Café La Tour and enjoy the
scenery. The second observatory is on the 150m mark, where you have to start riding the
elevator to reach the upper levels. There is an official store here where they sell goods
themed after the Tokyo Tower's mascot "Noppon", so you can enjoy some tourist
attractions along with the scenery. There is a special observatory you can gain access to by
purchasing tickets at the second floor area. This observatory is 250m in height and is the
highest point of the Tokyo Tower. It has a science-fiction feel to it, and you can enjoy
the Tokyo sights spreading out underneath you.

Zara and Robbie both work in a fashion boutique in London. But they are more than just
colleagues–they are brother and sister. In fact, it’s a family business. Their parents own the
shop.
Zara on Robbie: “We weren’t very close when we were young. I was eight years older
than my brother and we used to argue a lot. Then I went to college and did a degree in
fashion, and started working for my father.
But Robbie was different. When he left college, he said he never wanted to work with his
family. He tried to go his own way. Sadly, things didn’t go well for him. So about two years
ago he joined me in the family shop after all!
Actually, it’s worked out brilliantly. We’re good at different things. Robbie is interested
in display and the look of the shop, but I decide what clothes we sell. We get on much better
now, and even see each other outside of work! Our business talents are different, but we both
like the same music and love James Bond movies. We go to see them together because none
of our friends like them!
And we have fun at work, too. Once Robbie was in the basement, and I phoned down and
said Madonna was in the shop looking at trousers. Of course she wasn’t, but Robbie believed
me. He ran up the stairs so fast, he fell over! He was really angry with me at first, but then he
saw the funny side of it!”

A. Report Text

Questions 20-25 are based on the following reported text

Bacteria are extremely small living things. While we measure our own sizes in inches or
centimeters, bacterial size is measured in microns. One micron is a thousandth of a
millimeter a pinhead is about a millimeter across. Rod shaped bacteria are usually from two
to tour microns long, while rounded ones are generally one micron in diameter Thus if you
enlarged a founded bacterium a thousand times, it would be just about the size of a pinhead.
An adult human magnified by the same amount would be over a mile (1.6 kilometers) tall.
Even with an ordinary microscope, you must look closely to see bacteria. Using a
magnification of 100 times, one finds that bacteria are barely visible as tiny rods or dots
One cannot make out anything of their structure. Using special stains, one can see that some
bacteria have attached to them wavy - looking "hairs" called flagella. Others have only one
flagellum. The flagella rotate, pushing the bacteria though the water. Many bacteria lack
flagella and cannot move about by their own power while others can glide along over
surfaces by some little understood mechanism.
From the bacterial point of view, the world is a very different place from what it is to
humans. To a bacterium, water is as thick as molasses is to us. Bacteria are so small that
they are influenced by the movements of the chemical molecules around them. Bacteria
under the microscope, even those with no flagella, often bounce about in the water. This is
because they collide with the water molecules and are pushed this way and that. Molecules
move so rapidly that within a tenth of a second the molecules around a bacterium have all
been replaced by new ones even bacteria without flagella are thus constantly exposed to a
changing environment.

16. Which of the followings is the main topic of the passage?

A. The characteristics of bacteria
B. The various functions of bacteria
C. How bacteria reproduce
D. How bacteria contribute to disease
17. Bacteria are measured in
A. A inches C. microns
B. centimeters D millimeters

18. Which of the followings is the smallest?

A. A pinhead C. A microscope
B. A rounded bacterium D. A rod-shaped bacterium

19. According to the passage, someone who examines bacteria using only a microscope that
magnifies 100 times would see …
A. tiny dots C. small "hairs"
B. large rods D. detailed structures

20. The relationship between a bacterium and its flagella is most nearly analogous to which of the
followings?
A. A rider jumping on a horse's back C. A ball being hit by a bat
B. A boat powered by a motor D. A door closed by a gust of wind

21. In line 16, the author compares water to molasses, in order to introduce which of the following
topics?
A. The bacterial content of different liquids

B. What happens when bacteria are added to molasses

C. The molecular structures of different chemicals

D. How difficult it is for bacteria to move through water

Dear Slamet,

I am busy preparing for my trip to Indonesia :-) I have contacted the Embassy here in
London about the visa I need. I must apply for a business visa, as suggested by the people in
the Indonesian Embassy. In order to submit all the documents, I need "a written approval
from the Immigration Authority" that I should receive from the inviting institution. The
people in the Embassy told me that my "counterpart in Indonesia should apply locally on
[my] behalf". Please let me know what you think. Many thanks in advance.

All the best,
