This document will detail the steps necessary to assemble the components of the aft cockpit.

3.1 Equipment
3.1.1 The following tools will be necessary to perform this procedure:

1.1 Install the Spacer Pad, 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 1/4 (#3230-018) in the location as shown above onto the Retraction Bar, Electro Mechanical
(#3230-092) by using two (2) Rivets, SB6-8 (#SP-66) into the pre-drilled 3/16” holes.
1.2 Install the Actuator Clevis (#3230-091) to the Retraction Bar, Electro Mechanical (#3230-092): Using two (2) Bolt, AN4-10A (#N410A) (no
washer) go through the Actuator Clevis (#3230-091), Retraction Bar, Electro Mechanical (#3230-092), (no washer), Thin Nut, AN4
(#N4TN) and tighten.
1.3 Repeat Steps 1.1 and 1.2 for the second Retraction Bar, Electro Mechanical (#3230-092).

Note: Torque Value on the bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

Note: The Electric Gear Bulkhead Straps have a smaller ¼” hole on the top side, 3/8” hole on bottom.

2.1 On co-pilot side, attach two (2) Hydraulic/Electric Gear Bulkhead Straps (#5310-027) to the Bulkhead Cross Tube, Upper. Install Bolt,
AN4-26A (#N426A) through Washer AN4 (#N4W), Hydraulic/Electric Gear Bulkhead Strap (#5310-027), Bulkhead Cross Tube Upper
(#5310-002), Hydraulic/Electric Gear Bulkhead Strap (#5310-027), Washer AN4 (#N4W), and Nut AN4 (#N4LN) and tighten.
2.2 Repeat all steps above for the Pilot Side.

Note: Torque Value on the bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

3.1 Install the Retraction Bar, Electro-Mechanical (#3230-076) between the Retraction Plates (#3230-017) on the Bulkhead Cross Tube,
Lower (Spacer Pad will face down). Install Bolt AN6-33A (#N633A) through Washer AN6 (#N6W), Hydraulic/Electric Gear Bulkhead Strap
(#5310-027), Retraction Plate (#3230-017), (2) Plastic Spacers, 1/8”, 3/8’ ID x 1” OD (#3210-005), Retraction Bar, Electro Mechanical
(#3230-076), (2) Plastic Spacers, 1/8”, 3/8’ ID x 1” OD (#3210-005), Retraction Plate (#3230-017), Hydraulic/Electric Gear Bulkhead Strap
(#5310-027), Washer AN6 (#N6W), Nut AN6 (#N3LN) and tighten to snug
3.2 Repeat all steps above for the opposite side.

4.1 Install the Actuator, Electric Gear (#3230-077) using a Bolt AN4-26A (#N426A), Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14), Bulkhead Pylon
Gusset (#5310-026), Steel Bushing, 2-1/4 x 1/2 x 1/4 ID (#3230-079), Aluminum Spacer, 5/8” OD x 1/4” (#3230-080), Actuator, Electric
Gear (#3230-077), Aluminum Spacer, 5/8” OD x 3/4” (#3230-081), Actuator Mount Plate (#3230-072), Fender Washer (#FW100-14), Nut
AN4 and tighten.
Note: Make sure the Steel Bushing is seated/pressed into the Bulkhead Pylon Gusset and Actuator Mount Plate holes before the bolt is
completely tightened.
4.2 Repeat all steps above for the opposite side.

Note: Torque Value on the bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

5.1 Install the Actuator, Electric Gear (#3230-077) to Actuator Clevis. Install a Bolt AN4-17A (#N417A) through Fender Washer 1/4 x 1”
(#FW100-14), Actuator Clevis (#3230-091), Steel Bushing, 1-1/2 x1/2 x 1/4 ID (#3230-078), Actuator, Electric Gear (#3230-077), Actuator
Clevis (#3230-091), Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14),Thin Nut AN4 (#N4TN) and tighten.
Note: Make sure the Steel Bushing is seated/pressed into the Actuator Clevis holes before the bolt is completely tightened.

5.2 Repeat all steps above for the opposite side.

Note: Torque Value on the bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

6.1 Slide the Gear Leg Oversleeve Angled (#3210-031) onto the Main Gear Leg (#3210-018). The third hole from the end of the Main Gear
Leg is the largest. This hole will line up with the large hole in the center of the Gear Leg Oversleeve.
6.2 Slide the Main Gear Leg with the Oversleeve from the outside of the Hull through the Rubber Seal, Main Gear (#3230-046) until the large
hole in the Gear Leg and Oversleeve lines up with the large hole in the Bulkhead Upright Gusset (#5310-055).
6.3 Install Bolt, AN6-32 (#N632) with Washer, AN6 (#N6W) through the Bulkhead Upright Gusset (#5310-055), Gear Leg Spacer Pad (#3210-
115), Gear Leg Oversleeve Angled (#3210-031), Gear Leg (#3210-018), Gear Leg Spacer Pad (#3210-115), Bulkhead Upright Gusset
(#5310-055), Washer, AN6 (#N6W), Nut, Castle AN6 (#NMS17825-6), tighten and install Cotter Pin (#AN381-3-24).
6.4 Repeat all steps above for the opposite side.

Note: Torque Value on the AN6 bolts in this section should be between 160 inch lbs and 190 inch lbs of torque.

7.1 Start on co-pilot side. On the last set of holes on the Main Gear Leg (#3210-018), insert the Gear Leg Bushing 1/2 x 2 1/8” (#3210-019) by
pressing it through the Main Gear Leg until it is centered with 1/4” overhanging each side.
7.2 Place one Plastic Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004) on each side of the Gear Leg Bushing, (#3210-019) that is overhanging.
7.3 On co-pilot side install Bolt, AN4-24A (#N424A) with Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14) through Retraction Angle Hydraulic, Right
(#3230-095), Plastic Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004), Gear Leg Bushing 1/2 x 2 1/8” (#3210-019), Main Gear Leg (#3210-018),
Plastic Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004), Retraction Angle Hydraulic, Left (#3230-094), Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14),
Thin Nut AN4 (#N4TN) and tighten.
7.4 See next page for the pilot side – assembly is different.

Note: Torque Value on the AN4 bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

8.1 Working on pilot side, on the last set of holes on the Main Gear Leg (#3210-018), insert the Gear Leg Bushing 1/2 x 2 1/8” (#3210-019) by
pressing it through the Main Gear Leg until it is centered with 1/8” overhanging each side.
8.2 Place one Plastic Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004) on each side of the Gear Leg Bushing, (#3210-019) that is overhanging.
8.3 On pilot side install Bolt, AN4-32A (#N432A) with Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14) through Retraction Angle Hydraulic, Right (#3230-
095), Plastic Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004), Gear Leg Bushing 1/2 x 2 1/8” (#3210-019), Main Gear Leg (#3210-018), Plastic
Spacer, 1/8”x 1/2 ID x 1” OD, (#3210-004), Retraction Angle Hydraulic, Left (#3230-094), Fender Washer 1/4 x 1” (#FW100-14), (2)
Aluminum Spacer, 1/4 x 1/4 (#2710-013), Tail Wheel Extension Cable (3230-074), Washer AN4 (#N4W), Nut AN4 (#N4LN) and tighten.
Note: Feed the Tail Wheel Cable from down on the Hull floor through the pulley and up to the Bolt.

Note: Torque Value on the bolts in this section should be between 60 inch lbs and 70 inch lbs of torque.

10.1 Install the Retraction Spring, 1-1/4 x 21 (#3230-056) onto the end of the Tail Wheel Retraction Cable (#3230-023) which was previously
installed at the aft end transom. Put the loop end of the spring through the eye on the cable end.
10.2 Install the Retraction Spring, 1-1/4 x 21 (#3230-056) onto the Tang, Bone (#5720-013) by stretching the spring until the spring loop
reaches the eye hole on the Bone Tang that was previously attached to the Boom Support Tube, Lower (#5310-030).

11.1 Measure down the Boom Support Tube, Lower LS (#5310-030) from where it connects up to the Bulkhead Lower approximately 21” going
aft. Place a mark at the top of the Boom Support Tube Lower.
11.2 Drill a 3/16” hole completely through the Boom Support Tube, Lower LS (#5310-030) at the 21” mark.
11.3 Install a Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001) at the half way point onto the clear sleeve on the Cable, Tail Wheel Extension (#3230-074). Slide
the sleeve with the Cable Clamp so the clamp is at the drilled hole. The Clamp will mount to the bottom side of the Boom Support Tube,
Lower.
11.4 Install Bolt, AN3-13A with a Washer AN3 through the Boom Support Tube, Lower LS (#5310-030), Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001),
Washer AN3 (#N3W) and Nut AN3 (#N3LN) and tighten.

12.1 Measure from the aft end forward on the Boom Tube and place a mark at 24” just next to the Cable, Tail Wheel Extension (#3230-074) as
it runs along the Boom Tube.
12.2 Drill a 3/16” hole into the Boom Tube at the 24” mark.
12.3 Install a Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001) at the half way point onto the clear sleeve on the Cable, Tail Wheel (#3230-074). Slide the sleeve
with the Cable Clamp so the clamp is at the drilled hole. The Clamp will mount to the lower side of the Boom Tube where the cable is
running.
12.4 Install Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001) by mounting it with a Pop Rivet SB6-8 (#SP-66) into the drilled hole.

13.1 To take extra precautions from water entering through the Main Gear Leg (#3210-018) and the Rubber Seal, Main Gear (#3230-046)
install a Tie Wrap, Plastic (#7310-020) around the throat of the Rubber Seal, Main Gear (#3230-046) and pull tight so it is tight against the
Main Gear Leg (#3210-018).

14.1 Measure from the back side of the hull transom going forward approximately 8” on the Boom Tube and place a mark just next to
the Cable, Tail Wheel Retraction (#3230-023) as it runs along the Boom Tube.
14.2 Drill a 3/16” hole into the Boom Tube at the 8” mark.
14.3 Install a Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001) onto the clear sleeve on the Cable, Tail Wheel Retraction (#3230-023). Slide the Cable
Clamp so the clamp is at the drilled hole. The Clamp will mount to the lower side of the Boom Tube where the cable is running.
14.4 Install Cable Clamp, 1/4” (#2460-001) by mounting it with a Rivet SB6-8 (#SP-66) into the drilled hole.
