Under the umbrella scheme, 190 working-women’s hostels will be set up to accommodate an
estimated 19, 000 working women.
Expansion of the Mission scheme approved by the cabinet for a period 2017 - 18 to 2019 - 20
with outlay of Rs. 3, 636.85 crore with a Central Share of approximately Rs. 3, 084.96 crore.

The national level (domain based knowledge support) and state level (State Resource
Centre for Women) structures to provide technical support on issues related to women
The district and block level centers will provide support to PMMSK and give foothold to
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in 640 districts
Implementation Details
The schemes will be implemented through the States and UTs and Implementing Agencies.
All the sub-schemes have inbuilt monitoring structure at the Central Level, State, District and
Block level.
Common Task Force created at national, state and district level will plan and monitor all the
sub-schemes under the Mission to ensure convergence of action and cost efficiency.
Each scheme will set clear, focused target aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
All sub-schemes will monitor outcome based indicators as suggested by NITI Aayog.
Involving Students
Students will play the the role of “agents of change. ”
Community engagement through Student Volunteers will be done in 115 most backward
districts as part of block level initiatives.
