Methodology

This portion of the study comprises the research design for the study. The
treatments, the materials used, the source of the data and information used in
conducting the study.

Research Design

Figure 3.1 Experimental Flowchart

Phase 1
Gathering of Materials
The researcher collected the avocado seeds from the avocado fruit by buying
and with the help of the researcher’s neighbors and friends who eat avocado fruit.
The avocado seeds were cleaned. All of the materials used such as the tray, pestle,
mortar and etc. were provided by the researcher herself. The Sani antibacterial
wipes, which is the control variable were bought at Csi Supermarket here in
Mangaldan.
Preparation of the Set-up
In this study, an experimental set-up and a control set-up were used. For the
experimental treatment, the containers were labeled as treatment 1 containing the
antibacterial oil made from the sundried avocado seeds. As for the control set-up, it
is labeled as treatment 0.

Phase II
Preparation of the Independent and the Extraneous Variable
The avocado seeds were collected and washed and removed the remnants of
the seeds. Using the pestle and the mortar, the avocado was minced; after that, it
was sun dried for 3-5 days so that I can get more oil from it.

Phase III
Cooking the Sundried avocado seeds
After the researcher sundried the seeds on 3-5 days she collected all of it and
put it in a container. Then after that the researcher put it in a casserole to cook or to
boil it so that the researcher could get so much more oil from the seeds. After that
the researcher herself get 10ml of the antibacterial oil and put it in the cotton pads
that the researcher bought in the supermarket. And then the researcher prepared the
agar-agar that the researcher’s bought from the dry market. Now that everything is
ready, the cotton pads that has antibacterial oil on it is being applied to the agar-
agar so that the researcher can see the difference of the experimental set-up in to the
control set-up.

Phase IV
The Antibacterial oil made from the sundried avocado Persea Americana seed
were put in a cotton pads and applied on the agar-agar. The treatment 1 is the used
for the observation together with the control variable which is the Sanicare
Antibacterial Wipes. The Agar-agar is the subject that involved on observing the
said Antibacterial oil according to its effectiveness and durability.
