Use English in explaining the concept for


T.L.E. used English as the medium of
communication.
And also use proficiently mother tongue
and Filipino also to understand the lesson
very well (Indicator 2,3)
Use of hand gestures as non-verbal
strategy in teaching. (Indicator 3 verbal
strategy.)
Students prior knowledge can help
learning.
Use of brainstorming to reveal prior
knowledge and motivate students to
determine direct and sustain what they do in
order to learn.
Provision of authentic real situation.
Students may mentioned several examples
of seeds of fruit bearing crops and
vegetables that are available in the locality.
1. Unlocking difficulties. Let the students to
think, give their ideas about good quality
seeds (English – Indicator No. 1)
• Call some volunteers students to share
their experience about selecting good
quality seeds for planting
• Students must have lecture notes about
definition of terms and characteristics of
good quality seeds.
To develop mastery, students must acquire
skills, practice them and to serve as source
of livelihood and increase family income
RPMS objective 2.
• Show to the students some examples of
good quality seeds for fruit bearing crops
and vegetables.
• Let the students collect some seeds place
in a plastic and to be submitted next day.
Unlock difficult terms using mother tongue or Filipino
dialect.
• Seeds – Tulang, Binhi, Punla
• Mother plant – Pinanggagalingan ng punla o binhi.
• Viability – kakayahang tumubo
• Variety – Iba’t-ibang klase o uri ng binhi o punla.
• Localization by listing the common fruit bearing
crops and vegetable crops found in the locality like
banana, avocado, manga, langka, dalandan,
guyabano at marami pang iba. At mga gulay naman
katulad ng sitaw, talong, okra, petchay, lettuce,
radish at marami pang iba.
Use of the language in explaining (Indicator 1) Indicator 5
encouraging the learners to present talk in Filipino / Mother
tongue, Respect, fairness and care (Indicator 6, Individual
reciting of learners nurtures and inspires the learners to
participate, cooperate and collaborate for continues learning)
• Ask the students to read and understand some important
words related to select on and characteristics of good quality
seeds.
• Students must lists the common fruit bearing crops in the
locality
• Let the students visit the nursery in the school or go around
the school campus and identify some fruit bearing crops
grown in the school campus.
• Let the students interview at least 3 farmers and ask them the
kind of fruit bearing crops grown in their farm.
Activity 1 – Group the students into 3 groups and
assigned each group to do the following.
• Group I – State the characteristics of good
seeds.
• Group II – Define seeds, viability, variety and
mother plant
• Group III – Identify good quality seeds given by
the teacher actual samples
The students will write in their study note the
important terms and characteristics of good quality
seeds.
• Ask the students to select good quality seeds for planting
and why it is important to use good quality seeds.
• State the advantages of using good quality seeds for
planting.
Activity 2 – Hands on Activity

activity starts)

grading the learners tasks)

Directions: Students will perform individually following the
characteristics of good quality seeds.

Definition of Terms

• Seed – a fertilized and ripened ovule which may


develop into a young plant by germination.
• Variety – a group of cultivars which by species,
by structural features and by performances can
be identified from one another.
• Mother plant – a plant from which propagating
materials are taken.
• Viability – refers to ability of seeds to germinate.
Good seeds must have the following
characteristics:
• Good seeds should be viable.
• Good seeds must be fully matured.
• Good seeds are usually fresh.
• Good seeds should be free from seed-borne
diseases.
• Good seeds should be true to type.
• Good seeds should be damage free.
• Good seeds should be free from weed seeds
and other foreign materials.

inyong iparating lalo pa ito maaari nating iugnay sa ating
aralin at pagsasabuhay ng mga araling ito sa ating pang-
araw-araw na pamumuhay.
Sa mga kabataang katulad ninyo napakahalaga ang
impluwensiya ng inyong mapipiling mga kaibigan. Mangyari
pa kung kayo ay pipili ng mga kaibigan, hanapin ninyo ang
uri ng mga kaibigang may magagandang lahi at binhi,
kummbaga mga kaibigang may magandang impluwensiya
sa inyong buong pagkatao. “Ika ng aang magandang binhi
ay nagdudulot ng magandang bunga”
